This is a rare button-type objective with RMS thread. By C. Reichert, of Wien. Each of its three sections carries its own lens. Using one, two, or all three sections together allows varying the magnification of the objective, from low to medium, to high. Button type objectives were a popular choice for low priced microscopes from the 1880s to the 1940s. But it was highly unusual for these objectives to feature the RMS thread. This thread makes them compatible with microscopes by other makers(including modern ones! The objective is in very good condition for an item some 130 years old. Noticing partial loss of finish on the brass barrel(see pictures) Importantly, I see no defects in the lenses. This is a no return auction.
