But it can be used with any scope with X-Y input or will even work with just the external trigger input on most scopes. This little guy will make a great accessory to one of the now common DSO scopes. The 1401a was designed to run from a NiCad battery pack. Which long ago died and was removed from the inside the unit. The internal power supply is designed to charge the batteries and doesn’t want to run the unit properly by itself. But unfortunately neither of the racks has a power supply at this point. I can’t see that being much of an issue unless you need to be installing and removing the plug-in on a regular basis.
