Both of which are focused at the same point on the sample. This particular example is one of the more elaborate configurations B&L offered in the 1960's. Three objective pairs can be quickly interchanged- all are attached to a common slide. The objectives included with this instrument include a 0.66x. A 2x, and a 6x. The oculars are a pair of wide-field 15x. The stand includes a separable base that is used for transmitted light applications. The mirror fork and mirror are present. But the mirror pretty dirty, I did not know if it was coated and did not want to risk cleaning it wrong. Also lacking is the glass stage plate but the chrome-plated ledge that would have held it in place is there. This would be a very easy thing to fabricate. When transmitted light is not needed. The bottom assembly may be removed Do this by releasing a knurled screw on the back of the focus drive housing. In addition to the rack& pinion focus drive there is a second dovetail which may be extended for very large samples- the handle for securing it is visible beneath the microscope arm. The microscope is in good condition. All parts could use a good cleaning and lubrication. And the alignment should be checked. Only what is pictured is what is included. Up for auction is the vintage 1895 Leitz& Wetzlar Medical microscope. It is No.34053 which date it back to 1895. The microscope weighs about 8 pounds and is very heavy for its size. There are lenses made by Reichert in Austria and Spencer in Buffalo NY. There is also as shown in the photos the extra retractable lens on the bottom with a fish-eye type bubble up lens. There are two mirrors on the bottom holder: one on each side. Vintage R. & J. Beck Ltd. Microscope. All Brass, made in London: nice condition.
Here we have a very nice early 20th Century brass Microscope made by R. J. Beck. Ltd, London. The serial number is 27083. The microscope is in very good condition for its age. I lightly cleaned the dust from it. And examined a piece of hair. It works very well, aside from the dust that appears under power. Most of the original Lacquer is still on the brass, probably about 95% or so. Everything works as it should. Including the course and fine focus. The instrument will tip back and stay in place at various angles as it should as well. The iris on the condenser is also functional, however, the leaves were a little banged up when I got it, so I took it apart and put it back together.consequently, I make no assertions that the iris will stay in tact after repeated use. There are two objective lenses on it. One is marked X50. Watson B3379, Para ... more4mm NA 70. The other is marked R& J Beck Ltd 2/3 14mm A. These lenses thread into a dual housing that can be rolled to select one lens or the other. The housing for the lenses slides into place on the microscope as opposed to threading on, and it doesn't seem to fit as tight as it should, though it will stay in place. The mirror is in good shape, with a little clouding around the edges. There is one small ding on the microscope. As pictured in the last pic. It is about the size of a pencil eraser and about 1 milimeter deep; it does not affect anything. Good luck bidding. I will ship International. Please see the pictures below the description You are bidding on a cased collection of 90 microscope slides. Mostly dated 1921. They are histology slides and were owned, and in all probability, prepared by Hartley Lupton. Hartley Lupton was possibly the first scientist to study the effects of physical and muscular exercise on athletes when a tutor at Dalton Ellis Hall, Manchester University, experimenting on many of his students, and later at University College, London, where he worked on his studies along with Professor A.V. Hill. He prepared three papers to appear in the Proceedings of the Royal Society, at the same time working tirelessly on his studies despite being struck down with a fatal illness. He tragically died in September 1924 at the early age of 32. All but one of the 90 slides are intact- the one is snapped across near the middle, but has missed the specimen which is still intact. Most of the labels are very good, but there are a few that are partly legible and some more that you cannot read at all where they have stuck to the card flap over them. In all, there are twelve trays, the bottom two being empty. They have accumulated a bit of dust and dirt over the years, but I have made no attempt to clean anything. A Vintage C.Baker of London Microscope Model 13326 Complete in Original Box
This is a beautiful Microscope in its original box with its original lock and key. All parts to my knowledge are there and included are 23 glass slides. The body is in black and has very little markings. I have done nothing to this since i took it from storage and is in an as found condition. Please study the photo's as this gives a clear indication as to the condition and quality of this item. If you require more photo's please ask. Inside the box it has nice green baize and a place for the attachments to slide into when in their wooden holder. I may be wrong as this not in my sphere but i believe this to be between 1930- 1950. This is a fine example of an instrument made by an excellent manufacturer of its time with all its original components still intact.
