Panasonic 8 Track Boombox Radio Am/FM AC/DC Portable Unit Model RQ-8325
This is a very nice vintage boombox with few cosmetic flaws. I have been playing it in my garage for about a week now and this is what I've noticed. When playing an 8 track the track will not switch automatically(don't really know if it's supposed to) it does switch with the button on top no problem. I had to wiggle the AC cord in the receptacle a little bit but the only cord I had was much newer and didn't fit in the slot well so that may have been the cause and it will not be included. I haven't tried it at all with batteries so I really don't know how well it runs on DC. When switching from Radio to tape the switch seems a little sticky it normally needs flipped a couple times to make the radio come on. There is a little static in the volume knob sometimes too but not much. It is very loud and very clear playing. ... moreOverall a very nice unit considering it's age. This rebar cutter shows visible signs of wear. There are scuffs. Scratches, paint chips and discoloration on this item. There is also some light grease and some very light rust on this item. Fantastic vintage 70's working collectible, plays on DC power using 6 size D batteries(not included) or regular AC power house current, battery compartment is nice and clean without any corrosion, comes with original AC current two prong plug, unit is a nice clean off white cream color with black speaker covers and black top, pull out antenna works very good and is in solid working condition, player measures 8" x 8" x almost 6" deep, speakers detach and seperate 60" for great stereo sound, seems to sound real good when wide apart, player has a nice sturdy leather top carry handle, the 8 track player works very good and has been fully tested, it plays on all 4 tracks and all buttons work and light up like ... morethey should, will throw in a Van Halen"Diver Down" 8 track tape from 1982 that I used to test the unit, tape is also very clean, please note unit is at least 40 years old which is amazing in itself and seems to have been well cared for, there is a slight crackle in right side speaker only when adjusting sound turning it up and down, both sides work and the unit sounds beautiful and is in full stereo when set on desired level, radio has a working red stereo indicator light, selling all as is and I believe it will not dissapoint any collector or vintage lover, I am listening to it right now and it sounds terrific.

It starts wherever it was left on last power off. However, if turning it off and back on using the rear switch, it will go through the motion of recalibrating the touchscreen. I just bought this radio from an estate sale for a old couple who just sold their house. The radio just makes a humming sound when you turn it on. The first two pictures accurately depict the color. The rest I used a flash to show better detail and it appears much redder than in real life. The case is in excellent condition except for some surface scratches. The chrome on the handle edges and the tuner cover release have some slight pitting.The radio is extremely heavy in part because of the included old battery which is intact and shows no corrosion.
