The blade has rust stains but no pitting and the teeth remain straight with no kinks in the blade. There is a slight oily residue on the metal as it was coated to prevent serious rust. There is some sharpness but the saw probably needs sharpening.

VINTAGE HENRY DISSTON HAND SAW NICE!
Up for bid is a nice Disston hand saw. I am not a saw collector so please forgive me if I don't describe it correctly. The blade measures 26 inches long and has 5 teeth per inch. There is one tooth that is missing about half of its"point" the rest are intact and pretty sharp. The wood handle has a few paint drops on it and some stains. The blade is straight with no bows or warping. The handle is nice and tight with no cracks. There is a number 6 stamped on the blade along with the Disston logo. These Disston No. 36 hedge clippers are in great shape. They have obviously been used. And feature some wear on the handles and blades, but open and close freely with a nice*snap. The blades will probably have to be sharpened to be used properly again, but as they stand, they are a nice collector item. The blades are 9" long, the handles are 10" long and the entire length, closed, is 23. Henry Disston 1850 Vintage No 7 Hand Saw Very Early
You are bidding on ONE Henry Disston 1850 Vintage No 7 Hand Saw. Measuring 29 7/8" overall. The blade is 25 7/8" long across the edge, 2" high at the toe, 6 1/4" high right in front of the tote, and this weighs 1 lb 9 oz unboxed. This is marked 7 below the tote and this is sharpened to 7 TPI cross cut, I am dating this to the 1850's. The only marking on the blade is the inchworm style mark. The medallion has some wear, but there are no stars flanking the Federal style eagle and no ring of dots around the eagle either. This is in decent shape. The only cleaning I did was on the tote. The front of the blade has a few pitted spots, the back has a good sized patch of noticeable but for the most part, not too deep pitting. The edge is surprisingly straight except right up at the toe and this guy is sharp. There is one broken ... moretooth in the center of the blade. The tote of the blade has some trauma, that is chipped top and bottom, there is a bend at the top and the edge is bent out a little for the first inch or so. Hey, at least I tell you these kinds of details. The tote is beech. That is okay other than both horns having slices off the sides on the back and some roughness on the tips. I did try the nuts and they do turn but I didn't have them all the way off. This ain't perfect by any stretch but then there are very few perfect 170 year old saws around and you ain't gonna get one for this kind of money. DESCRIPTION Up for auction is 2 vintage 1900's H. Disston& sons handsaws. They both show signs of alot of use and each are missing the Disston emblem and some of the screws. These are definately some older saws. One has some real nice engraving of what looks like flowers. The handles are intact but the one with the engraving has a chip out of the upper flare on the handle and the blade is 26 1/2" The other one has a crack at one of the screw holes, with a similar chip out of the same upper flare part of the handle/ 26" blade. The blades are in good condition with average weathering for the age and all of the teeth are there. Vintage H. Disston & Sons Saw 8pt Look!
This is an antique H. Disston& Sons Saw. 8 pt. it measures appx. 30.5" long overall with a 26.25" blade, the lower screw in the handle has been replaced with what looks like a big rivit, and the little extension at the top of the hand hold is broke off, it looks like its been that way for a very long time, it don't hurt the performance of the saw at all, this is a real nice collector item or every day user. Rare Vintage Disston Sheep Shears No 190 Very Good Condition
Rare. Large size Disston sheep shears NO 190 in little used condition, or perhaps, unused condition. The overall length of the shears is 13 1/2" with 6 5/8" long cutting edges. The cutting edges appear to still have the original grind and are very sharp. The blades were apparently set in the factory to provide even force against each other as they still work very smothly. The edges are smooth and do not yet show any wear surfaces. The shears have some stains from long storage, but nothing which would affect effective use of the tool. The tool is ready for use, or to be included in a collection of Disston made tools, or ranching tool. A unique opportunity for you to acquire another high quality, USA made tool in good condition.

Stamped on the upper horizontal shank: HENRY DISSTON& SONS PHILAD'A U.S.A. 23 CAST STEEL WARRANTED Additional hard stamp to the right of the manufacture stamp: U.S.M.C. This stamping either indicates US Marine Corps or Union Shoe Metal Co. This piece is either a heavy duty industrial hack saw or possible bone saw. The blade is wider then the normally known hacksaw blades and the holding blade changing nut is heavy duty. There are no markings on the blade or wood handle. Vintage Henry Disston Butcher's saw. This saw is in great shape. It has been taken apart. Cleaned, rust removed, and reassembled. The brass lugs were cleaned as well. The bow has the henry disston name stamped in it. it also shows a'5. The saw is solid. Sharp, and usable. Not sure how sanitary it could be, but it is from a different time. From the shape and font on the stamp I would estimate that this saw dates from the late 1800's. Great addition to your collection for display or use. Check the photos carefully for condition. The saw belonged to a man who was appointed Meat Inspector in the 1950's for Tulsa County(Oklahoma) The saw is marked KEYSTONE Made By Disston USA The current blade seems to be pretty sharp. There is a bit of discoloration which won't distract from its utility. Due to the saw's age. I would recommend the saw get a thorough cleaning before use.
