A really cool pharmacy advertising display piece! This is a fresh find out of an old pharmacy building. It is a lighted display piece for Sucrets throat lozenges. It shows show wear and tear but displays well. The base unit has a chipped off of one corner shown in my photos. The bottom says LUXI SIGN; Exclusive design" The Beacon" American Engraving Co. PHILA. There is a thumb screw missing from the other end of the bottom plate and the acrylic sign has a curve in the bottom I am assuming to go around a light bulb. I assume no responsibilty for this electrical device. If you want to work on it that is your call. It does work. I plugged it in in my garage. The measurement is 11.5 inches wide and 10 inches tall. The width of the base is 2.5 inches or so. I am no expert but this appears to be from the 1950's or 1960's. What a find the wife and I had Sunday. Found a old Warehouse in Pennsylvania Not going say loaded with stuff. BUT the stuff we did find was amazing. 1953 never used under a desk in a box were several I'm going to say really cool card board adds and some really cool wax cups. The sign above is as I'm going to say near mint because a little bit of the clear coat on the sign has peeled off, see Picture# 5, I had to use the zoom lens to pick that up. You can't tell its there unless you really look for it. Corners are all very good. And the colors are bright and picture is vivid. This is called a Radiological Survey Meter. It is a 1960's Civil Defense Geiger Counter used at the height of the Cold War when the American Homeland had to be ready to defend itself. This is OCD item# CDV-715. Model# 1A Serial# 335437. Made by the Victoreen Instrument Co. in Cleveland, Ohio. It shows a little foxing and light wear. Was used at least through 1976.
