Up for auction is a 1963 Rickenbacker 420 in EC with the OHSC also in EC. I am the original owner of this guitar as I received it as a Christmas gift in that year. It is my first electic guitar. And in some ways I hate to part with it, but I never play it any more. It never was played all that much in reality, as I acquired other guitars that I played more. There are a few nicks as I have tried to show in the pics, but overall it is in great shape for a guitar almost 50 years old. I should mention that this guitar is all original and has not been modified in any way, with the exception of the nut and input jack, as described below I took this guitar to a guitar tech Dec 13th, and he made the following improvements to the guitar: 1. He lowered the action by adjusting the bridge. As I have attempted to show in one picture. 2. He made a new ... morebone nut so that the strings set better in the nut.before the bass string would pop out if it was struck very strongly. 3. He replaced the input jack as it was not working. And now all the electronics are working properly. 4. He replaced the strings on the guitar. Now I feel confident that the guitar is properly set up with good action and proper intonation. Again. The guitar is not in mint condition, it is not a"closet queen" but for a guitar 50 years old, it is in excellent overall condition and is a fine example of a vintage student model Rickenbacker 420 from the year 1963. the serial number on the bridge plate is C J, the C indicating 1963 and the J indicating October. BTW the scale of the guitar is just under 25" I just now. Jan 2, added 2 pictures in regards to the nut. The guitar tech returned the nut that he replaced with the bone one which is now on the guitar. I, nor he, have any idea if this is the original nut or not, but since I had a concern in regards to this nut, so I took these pictures and hope that it helps. Thanks for looking. Checked and ready to play right out of the box. The frets will be even and have no sharp edges, the fretboard will be freshly oiled and the strings will be freshly conditioned. It will be tuned up and set up with good action and playability, with no buzzing or playing issues anywhere on the neck. It MAY have some minor cosmetic issues, especially with the quality and color of the wood on the fretboard and the possible very minor rusting of the wound strings, but since this will be a fully set up uke at this ridiculous low price, it will be a great deal. Why are we selling it like this? Here is the long story: Lanikai received an entire container load of these from a new vendor. ... moreThe container contained 4.200 pieces(that's right- 350 cases of 12 ukuleles) all of the model LU-21B. The last two photos in this ad will give you some idea of just how many pieces that is. Employees in Lanikai's quality control department started to check these and they found that they were running into a defective rate of almost 35% Most of the defects were cosmetic, but there were also issues with oxidation on the strings, color issues on the fretboards, and other issues. After checking about 300 pieces, Lanikai decided to reject the entire load. Because these were factory defect items, I was able to buy the entire load at a ridiculously low price. I am going to have my tech go through some of them and sell the near perfect ones(like the ones advertised in this ad) at a very low price. These will be 100% ready to go out of the box and will be covered by a 30 day warranty with return privileges for a full refund if you aren't thrilled with them. Not exactely sure about the production date but will be somewhere between 45-55. The set measures: 36" wide. 33" tall and 17½" deep. I have the matching television set with it and it also for sale on this eBay account Never used. Never been tested, can't tell if it works or not The paper that indicates the model. Electrical scheme, warranty) is still intact and readable(see picture) It also comes with the original Brunswick manual! The record player is situated in the dubbel drawer that is on the top left side in the pictures. The radio behind the lookalike dubbel drawer which is actually a door on the top righthand side. It is no longer attached(screwed) to the wooden baseplate. It has some scratches mostly on top. Offered for auction is a fine Bausch& Lomb portable microscope Model BHP S.N. 74484. Dating to 1908. This full research microscope is housed compactly in a 29 x 19 x 8 cm mahogany carrying case. It sets up by simply spreading the hinged base. Then swinging the stage 90 0 and locking it into place. The profile of this instrument features an integrated"jug handle" cut into the squared off limb. A design that became popular among some producers between ca. 1900 and 1920. This B&L"Portable Microscope Model BHP" has all the features and rigidity of their research stands. But in a convenient traveling form. Not many of these microscopes were produced, because their price was over two times the price of a regular B&L Model BH desk-top microscope. Reference: The Billings Collection catalogue: P. 127 No. AFIP 49447; ... morep. 118. Fig. 223. The original optics that come with this microscope are all signed by Carl Zeiss. The set even has the original Eder immesion oil in an original bottle fitting a special slot inside the case. The case is complete. The inner and outer condition is very good. However, the microscope will be supplied with a modern fitted key that enables safe locking and unlocking of the case. This is an extremely well-preserved set of an early scientific instrument. Produced by one of the most respected American maker with optic made by the best German maker of the time. During the early 20th century, B&L and Carl Zeiss formed a partnership hence the combined features of this microscope. This is a SUN OPTICAL Auxiliary Telephoto Lens Set. Model 44. With case. The bayonet mount(Rolleiflex size 1 bayonet) fits the 4X4 Baby TLRs. I don’t have any Baby 44’s right now so I mounted them on a Ricoh Diacord and a Yashica-Mat to check size. The lenses are in excellent condition. They increase the effective focal length by approximately 50%
