John Deere 3 row planter with wheel drive, factory transmission , plateless
Here is my web site(still under construction) For auction is a John Deere 3 row planter equipped with model 7000/ 7100 row units. Planter is in good condition. Row width is set at 30" but could be adjusted. This is a 3 point mounted planter with cat 1 pins. Brackets are bolted on and are adjustable. Pins on brackets are low enough so that planter can be raised high enough out of the ground. Even for lower compact tractors. Seeding depth is adjustable with the quick adjust T handle. Planter has new truvee openers and dual guage wheels for accurate seed placement. Press wheels have adjustable down pressure. Seed tubes have sensors installed so that if a monitor wanted to be added at a later date. It could easily be done. This is a wheel driven plateless planter with factory transmission. Boxes have corn meters installed. Can be fitted ... morewith optional soybean or milo meters. Takes about a minute per row to change. I can exchange the corn meters for soybean meters if wanted. options: 1) I can install insecticide boxes(rear box that sets behind the seed box) for $100 per row. These could also be used for planting small seeds like turnips. 2)I can install a insecticide box that has been altered to apply fertilizer for $250 per row. 3)I can also add furrow openers for $100 per row. These are the disc blades that set in a v formation in front of each opener. They are used for clearing trash and clods out of the way for the seed opener to run on a level surface. This planter is heavier than the 71 flex. Coupled with dual down pressure springs this planter will notill in most conditions. It will also plant in tilled conditions. Planter is simple to operate. The 7000 series is known for being well built and dependable. This would be the perfect size for food plots or the smaller farmer. This has the category I or II hitch on it. It weighs about 1200 lbs. Spacing is set at 30 inches but the rows are adjustable. Up for auction is ONE John Deere wheel hub stamped with what I believe to be B12506-B. The hub will come as shown. Including the sprocket stamped B12120B, washers and bolt/nut. I could not find a hit on the part number stamped on the hub, but the number stamped on the sprocket seems to be related to a 60s/70s 494a planter, but I have no way to confirm this. I personally do not know what these came off of, and I have no experience with farm machinery. These were attached to some rims I bought that had tractor tires I needed for my demolition derby car. He would not sell me just the tires, so I ended up having to buy the rims and hubs as well. One of the hubs is in good working condition, the other would need to have both bearings replaced as they appear to be stuck. Vintage John Deere planter wheels that I can not make out the casting numbers on. I believe its for a model 290. 490 or 494 but have no way to prove or disprove that. If anyone can shed some light I would be appreciative.

It is the original and all heavy cast iron constructed. Someone attempted to accent the lettering and the elk in the mountain scene over the past several years. Yes. That is and elk.not a deer. The early planter covers were a cast of an elk.not a deer. This is one of the very early JOHN DEERE CORN PLANTER CANISTER COVERS. It is in superb original condition. It is difficult to picture but the relief of the lettering, elk, mountains, and vegetation is all excellent. Cast heavily on the bottom of the cover is, PATENTED NOV. 28, 1893. REISSUED JULY 23, 1895" Also, Y2678 appears cast into the iron. Absolutely no chips, cracks, or repairs. Nice. 7-1/4" in diameter at the ... morewidest point where it anchors on the canister and would pivot. About 1/4" thick and 1/2" at the stop where it would secure to the canister.
