Telescope Objective Lens Istar 4"(100mm) f/12 Achromat Doublet+test report, cell
Excellent condition. Some dust. Very little use. The lens cell has 3 threaded holes and 3 unthreaded holes so the mounting is can be collimated. Very well built solid aluminum cell. I estimated the bottom of cell outside diameter is about 4.5" The recess depth is about 3/16" The flange is about 3/8" wide and the holes are all in this flange. Including the flange width the max cell width is 5.25" approx. The whole cell is about 1.5" thick. Approximate estimated measurements only. If you need an exact measurement ask me and I will get out my calipers. The lens is'fully multicoated' as just about all objectives are now. I had this operational in a cardboard scope tube with a 1.25" focuser borrowed from a generic 60mm scope. This objective is impressive. It would be great in a real tube with a real focuser. ... moreI'm selling this to liquidate and downsize and simplify. Nothing wrong with unit aside from signs of light use. Infrared FLIR Thermal Imager Lens Short FL Mid IR Silicon Sapphire Doublet Optic
This item is a small silicon and sapphire aspheric detector lens. It is made of silicon with a sapphire optical element as well. It is made for either a thermal imager or some sort of near/mid IR detector. The focal length appears to be about 1cm and the lens diameter is about 13mm. The lens makes an image that is visible on my night vision intensifier tubes. But will not make an image visible on normal CCD imge chips. Since part of it silicon it will cut off wavelengths shorter than about 1.3um making it quite useful as a detection lens for erbium glass 1.5um and other longer wavelength lasers. There is a very small piece of very old adhesive tape over a screw hole on the outer edge of the lens assembly. Otherwise. The camera is in excellent condition. kodak six-20 with doublet lens VERY fine condition
This is a very fine condition Kodak camera. No scuffs or scratches. Leather perfect. Billows in excellent condition and only slightly stiff. This is the best"direct from the attic" camera I've seen. When I was a kid I used one very much like it(I'm 75 now) and took some fine photos and some not so fine but then I was a kid. We developed our own and contact printed our own. Kodak No 2 Beau Brownie Camera I am in the middle of listing many cameras that belonged to my Father. He was a camera buff and many of his cameras have been cataloged with description and condition. I will test functions to the best of my ability but if I have missed anything and you are unhappy with your camera just return it for a refund. This is a Kodak No 2 Beau Brownie that was designed by the Famous Walter Dorwin Teague in the 1930's and are the epitome of the art deco movement. This one is a hard to find brown& tan color combination. The camera is in very nice condition except that the leatherette covering the handle has come loose. And I think the cardboard that it covers is torn. I opened the camera and it is very clean and has a wooden film spool inside. The shutter works well. The case's cover hinge has given up as shown. It also includes the original manual also in nice condition, with the paper cover split in the middle and loose from the manual. As seen in the photos, there is some color fading/color change(from age) on the case, as seen, below where the cover edge ends. When looking at the case, it almost looks like it would have been a green case(looks olive green now) there isn't much that would indicate that it started out blue other than the handle(which is quite fragile) The colors of the camera are dark blue, light blue and silver. Near the lens it is also marked No. 0 The case is marked Eastman Kodak by the snap closure. The accordion/folding part of the camera is in nice shape with no rips or tears. All the metal parts are shiny with no rust. The folding action for the lens and the rear portion of the camera open and close nicely and click firmly into place. The leather strap on top is also in nice shape. The black leather case with the camera has very slight wear around the bottom corners and the button snap. Also light wear around the top two flap sides. The wear is very slight. The case and strap are sturdy. Snap closes firmly. But all the buttons/parts move nicely and we don't see any evidence of major wear that would indicate mechanical problems- it was nice and clean when we bought it and it was well taken care of. This camera is awesome! And quite rare. The Eastman View No. 1 folding plate camera. In excellent cosmetic and working condition. The wood work looks great with only a few minors signs of wear. The brass looks like new with some great detail work. The bellows are surprisingly nice for being over 100 years old, still very pliable but they do have some minor pinholes on the edges, very fixable. Even more rare is the Howard Grubb Aplanatic Doublet brass lens. These only come up a couple of times a year! This one is in nice condition with some wear on the outside as seen in the photo's. The lens itself has no fungus or scratching, it does have some dust specs inside but is still very usable. William Optics 80 mm ED APO doublet objective refractor lens
For sale is an excellent condition 80 mm ED(marked APO = apochromatic) doublet objective lens& cone baffle pulled from a working William Optics Zenithstar II refractor. This objective is F/6.8 with a 545 mm focal length. A capable wide field performer. It also puts up quite sharp and contrasty views for planetary viewing. Should slide into any 80 mm OTA with sufficient focuser travel. Cone baffle helps keep out stray light. No scratches or fungus. Some minor dust on the exterior of lens. Rare Early Ross Actinic Doublet Brass Lens Circa 1864
This lens was produced by T.R.Ross. London, from 1864. It is an improved design based on that made for Mr Collen in 1841, as an alternative to the Aplanat of Grubb. It has a built in shutter, operated by a finger. You should be able to see this in my photographs. The glass is in excellent condition. The brass has most of its original lacquer. The black painted areas would benefit from stripping and repainting matt black. It has a retaining ring which seems to have been tightened very severely and I have not been able to remove it. I will try again. The rotating wheel stops start at F16 and there are 4 apertures in all. Unusually for such an early lens. But not for Ross, it has click stops. It is marked as covering 7-1/4 x 4-1/2. This was one of the main formats used for stereo cameras.
