England. The jar is in the traditional"Harvest" pattern and has an English sterling silver band encircling the rim. The silver band carries the appropriate British hallmarks for London 1890. The jar measures 5 inches tall and is 4 inches in diameter. The jar has the appropriate Doulton factory mark and the number 1414. The interior of the jar is very clean for its age and the entire piece is in good condition. For the sake of accuracy. There is a small pinprick size indentation to the bottom rim of the pot which appears to have been there since it was manufactured and there is minor wear to the silver rim but nothing to detract from ... morethe beauty of the piece. The Decanter Stand features very Bold and Detailed Grape and Vine designs around the top and amazing Repousse Lion Head and Floral designs to the body as well as amazing Pierced designs throughout. The Bottle Stand features very finely detailed Feet as well. The Wine Bottle Stand is in very all original condition throughout with no wear to the Copper and certainly no dents, cracks or repairs, I am sure the new owner will be quite impressed. The Bottle Stand also come from the Estate with this White Porcelain Liner, it does not fit perfectly but would be nice to use if you wanted to fill with Ice Water to keep your Wine chilled. The Service is unlike and I have seen before and of very fine quality throughout. There is no markings as to maker that I could find. But the quality is certainly of WMF. The Service consists of 2 very fine Art Deco Handled Decanters plus 12 excellent Cut Glass Shot Glasses and a large Fitted Silver Plate Tray. The Service is in very fine all original condition, with the Glass portions showing no large chips, cracks or repairs(just a few Cups have tiny chips) and the Decanters only show minor wear to the Silver Plate portions. The Tray shows more wear as seen in the photos. I think the set is fabulous just the way it is with nice character and age but it would look absolutely smashing if you had it replated! The Service is a great size for modern use with the Decanters measuring 6-1/2" tall by 5-1/2" long and holding 750ml or 25 Ounces, the Shot Glasses measuring 2-3/4" tall by 1-1/4" wide, holding 1 ounce and the Tray measuring 15" long across by the handles by 10" wide. Being made by the famous Birks Silver Company and you know the service is original to the box because the knives and forks fit like a glove and the case is marked inside Birks as well as on the Knife Blades. Everything that came from this estate was in amazing condition and this set is no exception, it literally appears to been hardly ever used. The Knife Blades and Fork Tines are Stainless Steel and are just gleaming, the Collars are unmarked so I must presume they are Silver Plate. The Mother of Pearl Handles are all nice and secure showing no cracks, breaks or repairs. The Oak Canteen or Case is also of very fine quality as seen in the photos. The Service is a great size for modern use with the Knives measuring 7-1/4" long and the Forks measuring 5-3/4" long. This is a turn-of-the-last-century JAPANESE ART BRONZE URN from MEIJI Restoration Period approx. 1890- 1912. It may have been produced around 1950-not sure. This lovely Vase is a finely cast and turned bronze jar with fluted opening. It is covered in gold enamel. The side is meticulously hand-engraved with a scene depicting a standing Samurai, a geisha playing a stringed instrument, an elder and a seated happy Buddha. Each beautifully engraved figure is enhanced with silver, gilding, copper and black oxidation for a lovely effect. The urn is ETCHED/SIGNED WITH THE ARTIST'S KENJI's 2-character maker's mark signature. It is in Fine condition with no dents or cracks, light overall wear, some tiny nicks on the upper rim. It features Horner’s‘Louise’ style of decoration to the top and main part of the shaft with a slightly indented band below. At the bottom is a contrasting plain band which carries the hallmarks. This pattern is recorded as the company’s design number 440. The maker’s mark is good and clear. As are the Lion Passant and Chester assay marks. The date letter, however, is very rubbed but appears to be O for 1914. The size is 8. An interesting and genuine quality item for collectors. CONDITION Good condition with no holes or splits. First. For you scrap and bullion people. the total weight, weighing individual pieces on my manual grains scale(for the under 500 grain pieces) and on a weight-watcher's grams scale for the heavier pieces, is below, from a spreadsheet I made: Silver is $28.80/oz today. It was over 45$/oz at one point and in my opinion won't go much lower than it is right now. given the stock market is really overblown these days. oz sterling, oz silver, dollars silver, 65.37142869, 60.46857, 1741.49486, I will happily accept return within 3 days if you find my weights are wrong. no problem. but I was very careful and also conservative. Here's the detail minus the knives: weight is in GRAINS. 16, sm spoon, 420, 9, sm fork, 500, 8, sm knife all slvr, 465, 8, round sm soup sp, 582.5, 10, dinner fork, 900, The 10 knives of course are more than half ... moreStainless steel. The knife handles are hollow but the balance point is well past the handle's stainless/silver border. The stainless extends into the handle as a short post maybe 2 inches long so some of the stainless weight is past that point but not much. For purposes of the silver calculation on the knives I used 1/3 the weight which is hugely to your advantage. Realistically I would put the sterling percentage at 45% not 33% but the calculation above uses 33% The 10 knives are 770 grams total weight. Which I call 9.14 ozs sterling using 1/3 total weight. For those"W" monogram people who would use it as silverware not bullion. It has a much higher value(a very special"welcome to my auction! to you: The pattern is called"Puritan" it's less ornate(more contemporary. Less gaudy? than the typical Stieff patterns and in my opinion more usable in these modern times. The long forks in this set are very heavy at over 2oz each. feels real nice in actual use. 1922 is what I'm able to find on the best Stieff website. I did not clean or polish any of the pieces. The pattern is called"Puritan" it's less ornate(more contemporary. Less gaudy? than the typical Stieff patterns and in my opinion more usable in these modern times. 1922 is what I'm able to find on the best Stieff website. I polished the 4 pieces in the first picture. They are from an estate auction and I can provide the name of the owner if you like. These are all in their original storage felt cloth(which I see the company started to recommend against in later years but the silver looks very well kept) I see the sugar cube grabber and the large fork are fairly valuable beyond the silver content.
