Cast control knob turns easily as well as the crank. I can see no rust. There is a minor blemish on the top of the front plate as well as a minor ding on the inside top front plate. The metal parts have a very nice vintage patina color to them and there is some very slight surface corrosion here and there on the metal parts(more on the pillars and spool than on the end pieces) The reel has a very nice and audible click when put into that mode of operation. Penn Sea Hawk Casting Reel 1933 First Model Domed Clicker Button/Circle K Nice!

Both of the brown sideplates are marked on the inside with the Kuhn Jacobs Molding Company"Circle K" trade marks. This reel also has the early domed clicker button. The handle pulls out for free spool. Foot is unmarked. The reel shows use with light scratches on the side plates but no cracks or chips, and the nickel plated brass parts have some wear and corrosion on the side pillars. Wooden knob is in great shape. Penn Sea Hawk Casting Reel 1936 Model Waffle Clicker Button Nice!
Penn Sea Hawk 1936 Reel Here is a nice Penn Seahawk casting reel. Circa 1936. This reel has a waffle clicker button. The handle pulls out for free spool. Foot is marked 250 yards, a new addition in 1936, according to an article by Michael Cacioppo in the July, 2012 edition of The Reel News, a publication of the Old Reel Collectors Assocation. This article also states that by 1936 side plate molding was done by Penn and the side plates will be mostly black, as this reel has. Also, the handle nut is scalloped, without the later locking screw. The reel shows use with light scratches on the side plates but no cracks or chips, and the chrome plated brass parts have some wear and pitting. Wooden knob is in great shape. Penn Sea Hawk No. 42 Reel Here is an interesting pre-War circa early 1940's Penn Seahawk casting reel. Note the engraved lighthouse scene on the tail plate. Foot is marked 150 yards. Reel is in decent shape except that someone put it away many years ago with wet line and there is corrosion on the chrome plated spool and arbor. Reel cranks smoothly with a strong click. You are bidding on a used Quantum baitcasting reel. It is in good shape and works nicely. It has 7 ball bearings and is very smooth. The only issue with the reel is a crack and piece missing on one of the plastic black handles. It is on the end and does not affect anything. The reel is guaranteed to work to your liking or you can return it. This was a very expensive reel new and has not been used much.

Abu Garcia Vengeance (VGC70-5) Casting Rod 7' 8-17lb

Early & Rare Edward Vom Hofe Size 1 Bait Casting Reel with Leather Case
For sale is a super Edward Vom Hofe size 1 bait casting reel and correct size 1 EVH leather case. Reel sports a reverse"S" counter balance handle. Strong sliding click button, and a full foot with the only mark being the#1. The sliding oil caps have the early 1883 patent dates. Reel dimensions are 3" dia end plates X 1-9/16" wide spool. The hard rubber end plates are free from chips and cracks, but do have some surface scratches and two intials inscribed. Reel case is in very nice shape with the EVH logo and the#1 on the belt strap. This combo would make a nice addition to any collection. Thanks for looking!
