Up for auction are two vintage fishing reels- a Pflueger Summit and a J.C. Higgins 53731011. Both are in very good working order; clickers work on both. The Summit is in very good condition. The only wear to the reel being on the spool's line tie pillar. The J.C. Higgins reel also has wear to it's spool's line tie pillar and on the non-handle side plate. The bag for the Summit reel is also in very good conditon; no tears or thinning of the cloth bag. This is a Penn Peer 209 Level Wind Ocean Casting Reel with very nice mechanics: all mechanics work great to the best that I can tell. I will mention that I feel that the drag washers on the star drag have some play left. But are not as adjustable as when new, i.e. you can still adjust the drag, you just don’t have as much ability as before the washers were slightly compressed. You do notice corrosion on the reel as shown in the photos, but this is mostly on the inside top of the reel foot and on the cross piece for the level wind. I could clean it up, but I have not done so as I know most auction winners would rather clean their own reel to use for fishing or to add to their collection.
