Vintage 1956 McCalls 3903 Mens' Rockabilly Shirts
When I first picked this up to look at the pattern- what do I see immediately: the man in the upper right corner smoking a cigarette. Well. That's what happened back in 1956 when this pattern was sold by McCall's. It is 3903 and a size 15-15 1/2" listed a men's sports shirt. It looks more like what you saw the movie stars wearing(inlcuding James Dean) Check out the Nehru collar with the side epaulets near the hem or the blue dress shirt with a tab over the pocket. I took all the pieces out. Ironed them flat and refolded the tissue. Everything is there and cut out neatly along the lines. The instruction sheet as a wear tear along one of the folds and there is a piece of the instruction sheet missing that measures about 5" x 1 1/4" Fortunately, there are photos next to each section of the directions. This part involves ... morethe collar. I should think you can soldier on without the missing section. The envelope has a teeny hole on the right side, a wear on the edge at top that is 3/4" long, and a 1/2" rip on the flap where it folds over. Look at the photographs. These shirts have all been worn but are in good condition. No holes or stains that I could find. Please note that the third shirt in the top row is not included. All are a size LARGE zip up hoodie- only worn once or twice. There is a small green"GC" on the back. Uniting the States tour shirt- with dates on the back. GC white outline letters- there is a black and white picture on the back of the band members. Blue shirt- says" On the East Coast we ride" on the back in the Good Charlotte in stencil font- has a banner with"good charlotte" in it held by 2 sparrows on the back. Red shirt- has a small black spade with"GC" in it on the back. Young& Hopeless stencil shirt- has tour dates on the back. Picture of band sitting- has dates from their 2003 tour on back.
