Vintage Proto Tool Box Chest Mechanic Machinist Ratrod 6 drawer grease monkey
This is a classic old red Proto 6 drawer tool box chest featuring the Flying Lady tag. It measures 26" wide. 15" tall, and 12" deep. Serial numbered on front logo#9997. It is definitely used with plenty of grimy oil deposits. Scratches, nicks, some dents and rust. The top portion of the back end is tweaked out along with the hinge ends so that the lid is out of alignment but the door still opens easily and tucks into the closed position. This seems like a design flaw and is probably common with this brand. The handles are showing rust but are working fine. The drawers are messy with previous grease monkey usage but amazingly they slide in and out like they were greased with butter. Ball bearings? Has the original lock. But no key. I don't have time to clean it properly but some degreaser might do the trick. Otherwise it's ... morea cool old tool chest with smooth sliding drawers.
