For your consideration. An antique travel desk. Approx. 11 1/2" by 8" by 4" Beautiful wood veneered box(probably Walnut) 4 brass corners on bottom, lock with no key, compartments. CONDITION ISSUES: 1 side of lock is missing a screw. A crack following wood grain across bottom, felt is worn, faded and discolored along hinged area, some separation of the wood in one corner and in the pen compartment there are 2 ledges so I think there's a missing divider that sat there. This lovely fireplace screen is made of mahogany veneer. With red brocade fabric used on the middle sections, sides and top. There are actually 3 sections to the screen, 1) the main middle section; 2) brocade panels pull out from both sides. Please see pictures, as words cannot adequately describe this rare and lovely piece of furniture. This piece came from an estate in Holly Springs. MS, and is definitely vintage. It is showing some signs of age in the brocade; although it is definitely red right now, I imagine it started life as a deep crimson color. There are some chips in the veneer that could be easily concealed. Please see the pictures, I have tried to capture each chip so that you can know exactly what you are bidding on. Greetings. Up for auction is a 1970's Slingerland mounted Tom, 9"x13" comes with a used bottom head and a new Remo coated top head. Has the black and silver badge, drum is a 3ply shell with clear maple interior and solid maple ree-rings with original edges. There are NO extra holes in the shell. Tom is a ree-wrap professionally installed in a Walnut veneer. Please note there was no loss to outer ply what so ever when old wrap was removed. Hardware has usual vintage pitting and bottom rim has rust. All parts work as designed, please ask questions prior to bidding. I use USPS and provide tracking and insurance, sold as is. Drum comes with 2 new Remo clear heads, hardware has usual slight pitting for a vintage drum, all hardware works as designed, hoops have matching veneer inlay and very little damage from pedal, shell is a ree-wrap with Walnut veneer professionally installed. I have removed the non-original wrap to expose the mahogany veneer factory shell exterior. Although most of the glue residue has been removed. The tom will still need some additional refinishing. There are some marks. Scratches or scrapes on the shell exterior from use. There are some marks and nicks on the bearing edges. The marks are mostly on the bottom edge. This tom had probably been played without the bottom rim for awhile years ago. Please read description. This is a walnut veneered baby grand piano that's been in my family for 50+ years. Sadly. No one in our family currently plays the piano and it's taking up too much space since we redecorated. It's not in the best of condition but perhaps someone would be interested in playing her"as is" she still has a beautiful sound to her) or work to have her restored. We had her tuned about 10 years ago but I'm sure it's over due for another. At the time, the piano guy said that she's a good piano but is due for a professional overhaul. All the keys have good action and are playable. No keys are loose or missing. As you can see in the pictures she needs work besides a thorough dusting ... moreand polishing. Several keys have chipped edges but doesn't effect their use. She's missing some veneer on the front corners and there are scratches on the top that will need to be taken care of. The piano seat needs new hinges and fabric top/cushioning. The piano is located on the first floor of our home with a couple of porch steps to traverse. You will need at least two experienced moving men to move her since the piano is large and VERY heavy. At a minimum. I think that a box truck with a lift-gate is necessary. I don't think that a pick-up truck will do but it may be possible. The piano measures approximately 58" width and 60" in length. The piano legs and foot pedals will need to be removed but that is easily done. Moving the piano is solely the responsibility of the winning bidder/buyer as we cannot assist with any heavy lifting or labor- sorry. Parts or restore? Trash or treasure? You decide. My husband wants to take it apart and re-purpose the wood but I would rather have some one take her and use her for parts to repair another piano or restore her. Redwood (?) THICK veneer 3 1/2" wide X 1',2',3' & 4" lenghts
This veneer is ruff cut. Meaning the surface is ruff and not smooth. Sanding will take care of this problem. It is also VERY thick. For veneer and measures 1/16" thick. I am cleaning out my shop of things I do not use. I remember the job I bought this for over 30 years ago. This I THINK is redwood, but I am not sure. I have a close up picture of it. Whatever it is that is what your getting. It is 3 1.2 inches wide and you are getting 14 pieced 24 inches long. 6 pieces 12 inches long. 4 pieces 48 inches long and 6 pieces 36 inches long. Small Antique Mid 19th Century Mahogany Veneer Frame Lemon Gold Gilt Liner
This is a small antique mid-19th century period mahogany or possibly rosewood veneer frame with a lemon gold gilt liner. It dates from around the 1840s to 1850s. And possibly earlier. It has a lovely old finish. But given its age. It has a number of small imperfections. But the overall look is quite beautiful. Overall. The frame measures 6 3/4 inches by 10 9/16 inches(17.2 cm x 26.8 cm) The back opening size is 4 7/8 inches by 8 3/4 inches(12.4 cm x 22.2 cm) The molding width measures 1 5/8 inches(4.3 cm) The frame itself is very thick at 1 3/8 inches(3.5 cm) The issues: there is a slight separation at each of the corners where the wood meets. It has a tiny dent in the top left-hand corner of the frame. It has numerous light scratches on it. But the veneer is fairly thick so they still look dark. There is an approximately 1/4 inch by 1/8 ... moreinch chip in one corner of the frame. Next to it are some dents and small scratches(please see photos) The liner is worn at places and the gray is showing through. It has half of the original hanging piece on the back. But is missing the ring part. You can see the sheets of gilding on the liner. The liner has a tiny chip in one corner and two in another corner(please see photos) I believe there was glass at the front. Then something sitting in it, and then a back to keep it in place, forming a shadowbox(please see photo) The back itself is made deep by an additional layer of wood attached to it. I've secured the liner in place with frame staples. It has its original wavy and bubbled glass. But it has some scratches and scuff marks to it. It would be great for an old oil painting. Drawing, folk art work, sampler, fraktur, silhouette, etc. It weighs just over 1 pound(454 g) It has what I always look for in frames. That wonderful old world look! India. South Korea Camphor Veneer Painted Chest This Camphor chest from South Korea lid is painted with a gold colored paint. In this painting there are seven wise men. They look like they are having a session. Talking over all the problems of the world. Which to them at that time was their country. One of the men is walking down the path to the other men. Two of the men are kneeling together and having a conversation over the scroll they have rolled out on a large rock. One man is looking up to heaven and has his back to everyone else. Two other men are looking at each other and to me it looks like they are grasping each others wrist. And the last man is standing behind these two listening to what ever they are having a conversation about. There is also a river. Lots of bamboo trees. Flowers. It's like one of those pictures you look ... moreat and see something different every time. Now as far as the lid condition there is some wear. Some of the picture is worn off. but not enough so that you can't see the picture. My photo isn't the best but you can kind of tell. The outside of the chest is a light gold color with red brown designs. It is like wicker but it's not wicker. The latch is brass. Round and etched design. A small lock can be used. There are brass corners on top and bottom and all the way around. Very beautiful. Is light weight but sturdy. Weighs 15 lbs. Size is 29.5 long, 18.5 wide and 14 inches deep. Inside is clean and nice. The camphor tree comes from Asian countries. It is know as a exotic wood. The tree has to grow fifty years before it is mature. Mature trees have large burls which is like veneer. Which is like very expensive paneling. The camphor tree has medical purpose also. Many woodsmen realized that thier nasel congestion eased while cutting this wood. Starting being used in vapor rubs as we know it. Also for muscle rub. The camphor wooden chest also deters moths and helps silver form tarnishing. early-mid 1800's antique furniture Civil War era MIRROR w/ MAHOGANY veneer
This early 19th century mirror measures 15" high x 13" wide and is made with two separate mahogany veneered frames. The inside frame having a nice beveled surface. The two frames are held together using square nails and the hanger on top is made of brass. Condition: a couple small nicks to veneer. The largest being 1/4" and located at top right corner; some bruises and small cracks on wooden frame but nothing distracting from its overall look; the brass hanger is original though it was moved at one time because it loosened up; mirror was replaced and shows some cloudiness. Pair Antique Vintage Art Deco Biedermeier Burl Wood Veneer Book Ends
This is a handsome pair of antique vintage Art Deco Biedermeier Burl wood veneer bookends. I'm sensing they're from the 1920s. They each measure 5 1/4 inches tall(13.3 cm) They are 5 inches wide at the base and 3 3/4 inches wide at the top(12.7 cm. 9.5 cm) The piece you put under the books is 7 1/4 inches long(18.4 cm) They're both very well-made and excellent quality. The only issues I see is that one of them has some light white dots on it's top left-hand corner. As if a little of the paint chipped off(please see photo) There are a few minor dings on them also, but nothing that stands out at all. Each of the parts that the books sit on and the bottoms of those parts have light scratches, but fortunately these parts don't show. Each has the number 19015 engraved on its bottom. We are pleased to offer this Mid Century sofa or entry table. This is rare piece which has a unique combination of Art Deco. Mid Century Modern and Rustic elements. The sofa table dates to the 1960s or 1970s. It is a 3 piece design. The table offers two substantial, pedestal, columnar legs as well as a substantial top. The top has rounded ends which pair nicely with columnar legs. All of the pieces are expertly wrapped in a beautiful Rosewood veneer which has a gorgeous grain pattern. The table top also features a center inlay of yellow pine veneer. The top has a deliberate interruption of the linear veneer pattern which is a circular design that corresponds with each leg. Inside this circular feature, a narrow band of Rosewood is inlaid in the pine veneer. This gives the top additional interest. The table top is notched underneath so that ... moreeach leg fits securely. The table is very heavy and extremely sturdy. It is in very good vintage condition. There are a few minor chips to the veneer on the top at the curved ends. There is some slight wrinkling in the veneer of the legs which is not uncommon considering the age. None of these is distracting or glaring. This is a very unique and beautiful table. The table is 66" wide and 17.75" front to back. The table top is solid and measures 4" thick. Up for auction is a recent estate find: an earlier 20th century vanity or dressing table. Complete with original mirror, and manufactured by Rockford Standard Furniture Company out of Rockford, IL. This is confirmed by the original thick brown paper identification tag stapled to the lower rear foot of the dresser, STILL INTACT and fully legible. Also on the tag is handwritten"450 vow" which may be a model number along with a craftsman's initials. This company stopped manufacturing in 1929, and then continued with retail only and I believe a different company name. My best guess is this vanity is from the 1920s to 1940s period, depending on when the item actually sold ... moreon the showroom floor. The lower two of four drawers have an ornate metal handle(see photos) While the upper two drawers have translucent, orange-ish plastic or resin handles that matches two plastic/resin knobs on either side of the upper mirror framework. Etched inside the knobs are the letters"EHWCO 3108. I believe the wood to be a veneer finish, with pine drawers and the appearance of some inlays that may only be paneling. Mirror is in excellent condition. And the vanity is nicely preserved for being a used estate item. Refinishing this item would bring out the splendor that Rockford Standard Furniture Co. was known for with its ornate cabinetry. Dimensions are 46" long x 17" deep x 27.5" high at the desk height; with the mirror and its stand add another 34" in height for a grand total height of approx. 62" The mirror itself is roughly 29" at its widest and 30" tall. Though I bought it several years ago, it has been in the same spot since purchased and is in“like new” condition because of it. Nice Solid Maple & Veneer Edison Little Folks Cherry Color Chest of Drawers-USA!
This is a beautiful solid maple and veneer cherry stained chest of drawers by Edison Little Folks from New London. Wisconsin. It has 4 drawers down the front with the top having a beautiful carved shell design with carving continuing down the front and at the bottom. The top has been beautifully done in Moroccan slate colored vinyl tiles for a nice smooth surface and protection. It has nice goldtone hardware and also has child safety stops so that a child cannot smash their fingers in the drawer. You have to lift up the bottom of the drawer a bit to get the drawer to close fully, so it is very safe for children. It measures 36" wide, 44" tall and 17.75" in depth. Marantz 6300 Restoration Services. This is a Service. I need your unit shipped for restoration. You will need to ship your unit in. I do not need your: Platter or mat. Tone arm Counter Weight. I would use Fed Ex and pack proper w/ insurance. Do need dust cover hinges to make proper fit. These are best with an output/ ground plate on the back. I just route an area out prior to the veneer. Veneering: I pre cut my pieces with a 1/32" tolerance. And use wood glue. There are no cross grain chips. I use a natural stain with Tung Oil. Or a high gloss polyurethane. Poly takes 1 week and costs more $$$. Please Note- Work usually takes 1 to 2.5 months. You supply your turntable. Email me ahead for quotes. I listed the basic restoration price for new veneer.
