Antique 1800's George Washington Portrait Print in Antique Mahogany Veneer Frame
For your consideration is an antique George Washington portrait print in an antique mahogany veneer frame. I personally took this to an Antique Appraisal fair on March 29th and paid to have a verbal appraisal done on this piece. The appraiser told me that it dates to approximately the mid 1800's and that the frame is of the approximate date as well. There was very old wood on the backside of the frame which I was told to remove because the acid from the wood would damage the print. So I removed it. The glass is very old and wavy. This print due to it's age does have discoloration and at some point, someone decided to paint his lips, eyes and a bit around his face. It still is a great piece of Americana and still looks great in the antique frame. The print size measures approx. 16" L x 14" W. Free shipping the lower 48 States!

This set dates to around 1780-1820. The bottles are hand blown and have attractive gilt detailing. There are nine bottles in total. The box has a wonderful mahogany veneer with an inlay design of a conch shell on the lid and brass handles. The box has a keyhole on the front and at one time had a lock mechanism and key. Which we unfortunately no longer have. The set is in good overall condition. One of the bottles has a glue repaired chip to the rim of the mouth. Another bottle has a chip to the rim of the mouth. But the two pieces of glass that came off are in the bottle so the bottle could be glue repaired. Two of the stoppers ... moreare not original. There is noticeable wear to the gilding on the bottles. The lock mechanism is missing. The box has some damage to its veneer here and there. These are all fairly minor issues, particularly when the age and material of the box and its glass contents are taken into account. Each bottle is about 7 inches tall. An antique. Empire period, wooden mirror with mahogany veneer and wooden back.good size. The mirror, inside 8" wide by 10" high within frame measuring 12 1/4" by 14 1/4" Has a blocked border with a champfered back.very well made, probably circa 1840-1850. I'm sure the mirror has been replaced and there are a few small veneer chips missing, but this is a very desirable size and can be used both for both country or Victorian settings.it will polish well. This is a beautiful Sonor Phonic Mahogany Veneer drum set. With 9 ply beech wood shells. Made in Germany. I would say the drum set is in excellent condition except for a couple of small dings and a scratch on the bass drum shown in picture 5. There are also some small scratches on the inside of the floor tom. The chrome is in excellent shape except for a few small blemishes. The shells have 45 degree bearing edges all in great shape. The mahogany veneer is in excellent condition except for the small blemishes I have mentioned. This drum set is very clean, it sounds and looks awesome! It is a rare find. The toms all have Sonor's tension rod anti-loosening feature which helps keep the desired tension and keeps them in tune. For Sale: my dearly departed Mother's Asian-themed buffet. It came from Ma's non-smoking home. The buffet has two mirrored doors. It is large and will need about three adults to move it. MINIATURE American Empire Mahogany Veneer Chest Drawers Salesman Sample 19th C
This is a charming 19 th century flame mahogany veneered miniature American Empire chest of drawers. It measures 12 ¼” wide x 7” deep x 12” tall. It has tiny inlaid wood patterns at the top of each side to replicate carved wood. It even has a small brass lock that appears to be a working lock. Though there’s no key to test it. I imagine this miniature chest was built as a salesman’s sample or an apprentice piece. Please see all photos to get a full sense of the condition of this chest. The finish on the right side is crackling and rough and has splits in wood. There’s a split around a knot of the left side of the chest. The top has a thin split and a knot in the wood. There are splits in the inner drawers and some wood loss on the back of the chest. Despite it all. INCREDIBLE. OLD FRENCH TABLE! We are pleased to offer this lovely, somewhat rare, antique French, Louis XV style, Marquetry, Rosewood and Mahogany inlay table. This is a true demilune table with both the front and back profiles curved. The table top features burled mahogany with a large, center inlay medallion of flowers and acanthus leaves as well as a smaller floral accent on each end. The apron section features detailed floral carvings on both the front and back profile(the concave side as well as the convex side) The cabriole legs have carved acanthus accents at the mid sections as well on the feet. This is a striking, beautiful table! The table dates to around 1900. It is in very good antique condition. There are some very minor(hard to discern) water rings on the top.again, very minor and very hard to discern. Hallicrafters S-38M Shortwave/Broadcast Band Receiver w/Mahogany Style Veneer- For the S-38 collector here is a nice. Working, un-restored S-38M. This is one of the cleanest original condition S-38's I have come across. It needs new capacitors and a thorough cleaning but can be a nice conversation piece for the shelf in the den as is. That's how it lived at my former QTH for several years. Evaluating the S-38M for this auction, I was able to hear signals, or at least static on all bands after some switch and band-switch jiggling. With an electronic restoration, cleaning and alignment it can shine. There are some light scratches on the cabinet(SEE PHOTOS) and some embedded grime in the knob groves(SEE PHOTOS) but all knobs, feet and screws are there. A conventional 1/4" headphone jack has been added to the rear(SEE PHOTO) but ... moreI have never tried it. This radio has the best original rear and bottom covers I have ever seen on an S-38(SEE PHOTOS) The dial strings for both main and fine tuning are working and in good condition. Safety note: The S-38M. And others mechanically and electrically identical to it have one side of the power line connected to the chassis by way of the power switch. There are grommets separating and insulating the metal cabinet from the chassis. That insulation must remain intact. Civil War Era Portable War or Lap Desk. Wood is stripe grained mahogany veneer. The gilded handles on each side were added later. Probably 1870-80. The dimensions of the desk are 22.5" length X 12" wide X 8" high. It weighs 15 1/2 pounds before packing. The interior is in fairly good condition, it has a few nicks and dings but no major defects other than a knothole that goes through on the bottom. It has several removable compartment covers and the fabric which covers the flipping compartment covers has split into two sections. Beautiful solid mahogany document storage box. Box is made of solid mahogany and the outside is veneered with flame mahogany. The top has an ornamental inlay in addition to striping near the edges and around the keyhole. Box measures 11" long x 7 1/2" deep x 4 1/8" tall. Inside measurements are 10" long x 6 3/4" deep and 3 5/8" tall. Entire box is constructed of 1/2" thick solid mahogany. Solid brass hinges and lid support are original. Lock is brass plated. No key is available. So condition of lock is not known. Moiré patterned green paper on the inside is original. Box was cleaned and hand polished to a soft luster using 0000 steel wool and paste wax. Bottom felt lining was replaced with a high quality dark green velvet. This is an antique box over 100 years old and has a few marks from age. 10 pieces of Rich Mahogany Cross Banding Veneer. This antique mahogany cross banding has been cut from old Georgian furniture. It is ideal for longcase clocks. Doors, hoods, cases, and antique furniture. It has been randomly cut to 2.0 mm thickness approx, so it will require fixing, finishing, dressing and polishing. I am showing the clock door to demonstrate what can be achieved using this cross-banding. I have not used colour/stain.This is just oil and French polish. The price of this wood reflects not only it's scarcity but the cost of the band saw blades to cut it. Hit a hidden pin/tack and a new blade will be required. If you doubt this try asking a workshop to cut second-hand timber.
