This is a NOS piece from the days. It is a nice cast aluminum pan and top shield from Rock's Lapidary to fully cover an 8 X 3 Expandable Drum. I got it and it looked new and I saw a couple of chips so I painted it. Any way it has not been tapped or drilled and that will make it yours. You add your in water and drain for your set-up and that will work. If you have interest see the photos and the tape measure will show you the sizes. Vintage Clarke MV-8 Floor Drum sander
I've got a Vintage Clarke floor sander. It's in quite good condition and it does work. There are a few minor things wrong. On the front of the sander where the lid lifts up to expose sanding drum the metal is broke on one side impairing the hinging on that side of the lid. Shown in the last photo. It has the original instruction booklet! Also has the dust collection bag but it has a small hole it in as shown in photos. It is from the 1950's not sure of the exact year. For sale is a hiretech floor drum sander and a clarke super 7r edger. Both machines are in very good working condition. And come with power cords and dust bags, although the dust bags have seen better days and could be replaced. The drum bearings are new, as well as the drum shaft. Edger has a new switch. Both machines are ready to go to work for you right now. The drum sander is much more aggressive than a clarke ez-8, so get you on to the next job faster and make more money. It is easy to use, I can coach you to use this machine and when used properly it is almost as fast as a 220v sander, and it's easy to get the floor flat. Many people use these the wrong way and chop up floors but I can give you what you need to know and you'll be good with it from day one. This is a great deal.

This floor sander is in excellent condition with nothing else to purchase for years to come. Used sparingly by a former carpet and linoleum installer to smooth out occasional rough spots. I was told it has probably less that 25 hours of run time. It includes 3 boxes of sandpaper in Fine, Medium and Course grit. Those alone are worth a couple hundred dollars as there is nearly 50 feet remaining of the originally purchased 50 feet for all three types. The drum cover is brand new and in the original box.
