Vintage Clarke MV-8 Floor Drum sander and Clarke V-5 Edger
I've got a Vintage Clarke MV-8 floor sander. It's in quite good condition and it does work! There are a few minor things wrong as is to be expected in a piece this old. On the front of the sander where the lid lifts up to expose sanding drum the metal is broke on one side impairing the hinging on that side of the lid. It has the original instruction booklet! Also has the dust collection bag but it has a small hole it in as shown in photos. It is from the 1950's not sure of the exact year. Could be a nice addition to a collection! It really is a cool piece! There is a roll of coarse sandpaper that goes along with it as well. I have removed the old piece of sandpaper that was shown in one of the photos to show the drum itself. The drum appears to be in good shape. But I am no expert on that. Also being sold with this floor sander ... moreis another relic! A Vintage Clarke V-5 floor sanding edger. From the 1950's. Yes it works! Is in pretty good shape though it has a few minor flaws as is to be expected in a piece of it's age. It has a broken piece on the top housing as you can see in the photos. The housing at the bottom also has cracks in it. The handles tend to slide off but am sure that could be remedied if it is intended to be used. The dust collector and bag are missing and still has the original electrical plug as you can see in the photos. The original instruction booklet has been preserved as well. The backing plate under the sanding discs is a little rounded but not tore up. These were listed separately previously but I am selling them as a set now for one low price. The sand paper is held between 2 spring loaded cams while the slow 1800 RPM constant speed of the drum will not gouge floors. The tilt action of the SL-8 also allows for a more controlled and even sanding. The weight of the machine is specially designed and evenly distributed for best results. It works great and comes with a bunch of sand paper. The amount of paper is as follows- 38 100 grit, 30 80 grit, 35 60 grit, 18 36 grit, and 34 20 grit. You are bidding on this belt sander head you see pictured here. It is 6" wide. 4 1/2" in diameter and the drum is crowned to keep the sanding belt centered on the drum. The bearings are Browning VPS-116. The bearings are tight and the holes are 4 1/8" on center. If you're building a belt sander or stroke sander then this is what you need. I suppose it would also serve as a conveyor belt head as well. The picture shows two tracks down the center- it was resin left from the belts- I cleaned it off and didn't bother taking another picture but rest assured they are gone now. Clarke EC-8 8" Drum Floor Sander Working
Works good and bearings sound decent. Drum is in good shape but does show wear. Drum key is included. It has about 30 feet of heavy duty wiring on it that looks ok but it does have some electrical tape on it. The plug end on it has no ground prong but does have a ground plug lead sticking out of it. The plug should have a cardboard end cap on it as you can see the bare screw heads between the prongs. I don't see anything chipped.cracked or broken. Switch is working. Model EC-8 1 1/2 hp.18 amp, 115 volt. 5000 rpm. The bottom unit with the handle and mounts removed weighs 88 lbs before packing and I will double box it which adds more weight. The handle,cord, mounting bolts and brackets and bag weigh another 22 lbs which I will ship in a seperate box. I bought this from a fellow who bought himself a newer expandable drum model. Up for sale is one Clarke MV-8 Floor Drum Sander. The sander functions very well. Just finished sanding a large 2 1/2 story older home with southern yellow pine floors and it did an excellent job. CLARKE DU-8 DRUM SANDER floor vintage sanding refinishing antique tool flooring
This does run but needs a little bit of work. It has one broken belt that runs the drum and the drum mechanism that clamps the sand paper to the drum is locked up with rust so that would need to be taken apart and gone through, most of this is aluminum but the steel parts do have some rust. The drum spins freely by hand and the whole thing rolls well on it's steel castors, it has a heavy duty cord that is a little dirty but in good shape and very long. It comes with the dust bag and I may have the long J shaped tube that connects the bag to the machine but I am unsure at this moment, I will check and update this later. There is also a little corrosion on the aluminum. You can pick up in Farmington, MO. This was not my machine and I am not sure of it's previous life, I believe I have pointed out all that I can that is wrong with it.

One owner. Orebro 10" 230V Drum Floor Sander. Excellent Condition. Works like new. Was put into storage around 2001/2002. Used it once in 2006 in my own home. Then put it back in storage. It's pictured in the storage unit it's been in for the last 12-13 years. Was always used with a Power Station. Has the nose weight for a deeper cut. Also was always transported by an enclosed trailer with a ramp and a specific tie-down location. No pickup beds where it could slide around or be dropped from. As of now I haven't located the swing arm for the cord, or the tool(arbor wrench) to change the sandpaper. If I do I'll add them to this auction, until then they are not included. It is available for inspection with a day or two notice. Local pick up is preferred. But I'm sure freight could be arranged.
