I bought this helmet and mask from the States several years ago. The seller has also this Marine Phantom driver's other helmet for sale same time. It was VMFAT-101 Sharpshooters marked one. That helmet had also a large F-4 silhouette on the helmet. I decided to go for this VMFA-212 era helmet. The helmet is in original condition. It's a well used example as you can see. Size is medium. The MBU-5/P oxygen mask is a regular narrow and it is 80/81/82 dated one. From 1974 until 1987. VMFA-212 deployed numerous times to Japan and the West Coast earning the CNO Aviation Safety Award, the Robert M. Hanson Award, and the Meritorious Unit Commendation. No custom fees in EU. A part of it fell in the Australian outback on a ranch and was recovered and made into this very cool lucite dome souvenir. The solid lucite dome has in it a fragment of the charred Skylab 1 oxygen tank that was recovered after Skylab 1 burned up upon reentry and crashed onto Australia. It also has 3 pictures with descriptions including a copy of the certificate of authenticity document from NASA authenticating the debris.
