Everyone knows the famous neckerchief slides that came from Neal Novelity Company of Biddleford. ME. in the 60's and 70's. Neal made the most popular line of slides from that era. Many were stock slides, but there were also many special issues, for Camps, trails special events or activities. This is a slide for Trail Hiker. It was available unpainted from Neal. It is the classic"Boot" slide and used by many camps. Troops and activities. They were sold in Camp stores around the country. As an unpainted slide you can paint it to your preference. 1958 Conn 6H Slide Trombone
1957/58 Conn 6H Slide Trombone This is a vintage Conn USA instrument that is up for auction. This particular trombone is in need of some love. Conditionally it is not fantastic. I actually rescued it hoping that someone would like to play it or have it refinished. In it's current state is has absolutely no remaining finish other than the nickle plating on the inner slide. The surface of the trombone has multiple small dents which I took an close up of and many surface scratches. It has been worn down to the bare brass or someone prior to my ownership stripped it. Either way. It has a lot of needs as far as finish. If you aren't concerned about the finish, then this is a great instrument. It is still playable. The largest of the dents is on the tuning slide at the rear but is no larger than a few mm. Nothing is damaged other than aesthetically. ... moreThe slide still moves quite smoothly with no obstruction. It has a nice Vincent Bach 6 1/2AL mouthpiece, which is in good condition. The Conn brand badge is a little worn and dinged, but still looks fine. I did take the time to clean it out. Polish it, boil the mouthpiece, and lube the slide, so that it will be immediately playable. It does not have a case, but I will be securely packaged upon shipping. I leave the bidding up to EBay. Small Walnut Box strange dovetailing old estate slide front oriental marks neat
5 3/8 inches long. 4 inches wide, 2 1/2 inches tall not counting the brass handle. All walnut with very interesting narrow and wide dovetailing, no nails or glue used in this one to hold it together, very thin pieces of walnut wood, inside was lined with paper, and looks to me like ink or paint stain, see photo eight. Interesting how it opens, the front slides up, see photo nine. On the back right corner a small sliver of wood is missing and many many years ago someone patched it with some brown substance. On one end there are what looks like four oriental characters in black ink, so I think it came from Japan or China. It came from an estate auction, but I have long ago forgotten which estate. It is very delicate and thin and was a quality made box. Looks to have great age to me, any info would be more than appreciated. Postage will be $6.00 ... moreby parcel post, carefully packed. The color is all off in these pictures. The metal color is sliver. The Hohner Marine Band 364 is a 12 hole harmonica with extended bass.It's in very good condition and plays fine. The chromatic harmonica is a junker for parts or repair. The lower notes are dead. I believe the comb has broken holes. So it's not getting enough air. I think the pieces are still there. You might be able to grab them with a tweezers and glue them back into place. It's probably just best for parts or display. The slide works. You may combine auctions for lower shipping. Check out my! Vintage Early 1900's E. K. Blessing Standard Brass Slide Trombone with Case I tried to highlight any markings and defects of this trombone. Please contact me for more detailed and additional photos. I am not an instrument expert. I will answer any questions that you may have to the best of my ability. Serial number is R 14007. I tried to pin point a date when this was made. But could not find any specific dates. I was able to narrow it down to 1906-1935. All actions move freely. Slide will fit into bell and rotate. Air flows through trombone when blown through mouthpiece. It does have some dings and dents. There is some light rust on bottom of bell. The case has a musty smell and has some interior staining. 1930s Hohner Harmonica -64 Achromonica - 4 Octave, Slide, 16 Holes, XLNT Shape.
I don’t know anything at all about harmonicas. But I will tell you what I see, and let you take it from there. The case is all wood, with what seems to me to be a burled wood overlay. The corners of the case are joined as a drawer in a good piece of furniture would be. It is lined with a gold, velvety cloth and the brand, Hohner" is printed on in a deep, wine red. The harmonica is a slide type with sixteen round holes. On both sides, it is marked in relief, The 64 Achromonica- 4 Chromatic Octaves- Professional Model- M. Hohner- Germany" The holes are numbered from one to sixteen. It sounds right, as far as I can tell.since I can’t play it, other than to pick out the scales. The slide changes the key, I discovered. Case measures 8.25 by 2.50 by 1.75 inches. There is a crack in the burl overlay on the bottom edge of the harmonica. Otherwise all is in excellent condition, clean and shiny chrome, without other flaws. A little research tells me that it was made in the 1930s, before WWII. THE MODEL# 24H AND MATCHING SERIAL NUMBERS ARE ENGRAVED ON THE BELL RECEIVER AND SLIDE SECTION. I'M NOT SURE, BUT I THINK IT IS A CUSTOM MODIFICATION. THE SOUND IS WARM AND CENTERED WITH GREAT PROJECTION, AND A CLEAR HIGH REGISTER THAT IS EASY TO ACCESS. THE HAND SLIDE WORKS PERFECTLY IN MY OPINION, VERY SMOOTH, FAST AND QUIET WITH NO ISSUES- IT WILL NOT DISAPPOINT. INNER TUBES LOOK EXCELLENT, AND SHOW VERY LITTLE WEAR.
