Vintage 1957 John Deere 420C Crawler Dozer Tractor NO RESERVE Up for bid is a 1957 John Deere 420C Crawler. Serial number 119279. This beast was owned by my late father but has not run in 5 years. He said it was running and all steering, hydraulics, and transmission were working fine while he had it. He changed the oil in 2009, but after starting the engine seemed to seize. He never did anything to it afterwards. This is an original 6 volt system. It has no apparent radiator leaks. The visible track looks good. The seat. Hood and grill shell were placed on the tractor for picture purposes only. The seat and grill cover, along with some extra parts, were purchased new by my father but never installed. The Crawler has been kept covered with a tarp. Total hours are 1291.8. This Crawler has a 5 roller track which was considered much better than ... morethe 4 roller. I believe it is a 5 speed which was an upgrade option. The body is painted yellow(instead of the JD green) which meant it was made for industrial use. The industrial crawlers had more horse power. Factory weight for this crawler is 4700 pounds. However. I do not know if that is the actual weight of this crawler since I don’t know how it came from the factory(blade, etc) Model 420 was the replacement for the 40 in the John Deere line of tractors in 1956. It's said the 40W was the prototype for the 420s. The Phase II 420's were made in 1957. A new block was used but it was not much different than the 40. An optional five speed transmission became available. Some of the drive components were heavier. This is a great restoration project. I don’t know what it needs to make it run. But once complete it would be the star of your collection and a real work horse too! There is no reserve on this item. Once bidding is completed. This is a 2000 Caterpillar D8r WITH 12.000 hrs it has the widest tracks you can get on it 28" tall grousers and the pins and bushing were just turned not long ago the under carridge is tall and strong other than having the pins and bushings turned it appears to me as 75 percent left on the run out. this is a strong tractor every operator that has ran it for me commented on how much power it has we ran it with a few newer D8t's and the guys thought this D8r was king. ITS IN REALLY GOOD CONDITION NEVER SEEN ROCK has hydraulics in the rear and has the semi u blade with a great cutting edge the blade is tight side to side very small amount movement where its pinned to the push arms other than that I will let the pictures do the rest. 1962 H3 WITH 6 WAY BLADE complete frame off restoration. This dozer was disassembled down to the frame rails. Sand blasted, rebuilt and repainted. New bottom rollers front idler axles and bushings. Tracks are new. adjusters redone and work very easy. steering clutches gone through and adjusted. New bearings and seals on pinion and axle shafts. All new over sized pins in every moving joint. Installed caterpillar pins and bushings on c frame main hinge with grease fittings. All new hoses. Engine rebuilt. new water pump. All new gauges. Tachometer is for a d15. h3 tach not available) Tach and all gauges are new and work. Shuttle clutch rebuilt. Transmission gears were inspected and were found in real nice shape. You are bidding on a Caterpillar 931 Crawler Loader. It is powered by a 4 cyl 63HP Liquid Cooled 3204 Caterpillar Diesel Engine. It starts easily and runs great. It also has glow plugs for cold weather starts. This machine is about 1 45 00lbs so it is a pretty good sized machine that will do quite a bit of work but still easy to transport and get into tight places with. It has steel tracks that are in excellent shape. Sprockets and rollers are all good. Pads are in excellent shape. Pins and bushings show little wear. It has a powershift transmission with 3 forward gears and 1 reverse gear. Goes in all gears like it should and all gears work great. This machine also has the pedal steering which is great. It leaves your hands free to control the throttle and bucket. Machine turns great in either direction with little effort. It has a 6ft bucket ... morethat is in great shape with a cutting edge that is also in great shape. This machine has the single bucket lever and is self leveling which makes this machine very easy to use. This machine is one of the nicest 931 Cat Loaders left in the world. This machine was used in a school in Japan that taught heavy equipment operation. That is why it has the jump seat next to the driver. That is where the teacher sat. Does not look like this machine was used very hard at all. It is a very straight and tight machine. No leaks that I can see anywhere at this time. Machine runs and operates great. John Deere 440 crawler dozer loader with rear weight
Up for auction is a John Deere 440 Crawler loader. I bought this just as you see it. It does steer both ways. I do not have the hood or the bucket, I think they were scraped. I was told that the owner rebuilt the engine and then then never went any farther with it. I have not had it running nor have I tried. I was going to use this on my property but have since bought a John Deere 450 so I don't think I will be using this. The under carriage does show some wear but it still has a lot of life left. It has the rear weights. If you have any questions I would be happy to answer them. Buyer should bring cash at pick up at my location. I do have a back hoe that I could push this up on your trailer.
