Thermal Arc DC TIG Starter. This is not a welder. You must have a stick welder(we use a POWCON 300) to have a complete TIG system. This unit will not control the amperage of your welder(we used a foot pedal interfaced to our POWCON) This is a very heavy duty unit. It will control the gas flow for pre- and post- welding flow. Gas flow can be started automatically before the unit starts the high voltage spark to begin the welding process and also can flow gas after welding has ended. We did not use the auto gas feature. We controlled gas using the gas adjustment on the TIG torch. We wired a small contact(see picture) that we placed in our welding station so that it could be operated by the welder's knee. This welder has been lightly used with 16hours run time has been keep in side it runs good and is in good condition some scraches two wires have been rewired with little adjustment runs a good bead with flux core it is a thermal arc hefty 2. flux core/ or mig welder with in port for argon gas this welder is still on first spool of wire the power sorce has been converted over to run off a welder but could easly be converted back to 220/280 plug in this welder new was $1300 if bought buyer buys as is no returns this is all truthfully and as accurate statement as possible thank you for your time
