The pieces are not perfect, but it is amazing to find them, and will be awesome in someone's collection! Please look at the pictures. From all my research. I believe it to be from between 1939-1943. In 1944, the name had changed to"Heavy Duty" but the serial number seems to indicate this one is from 1939) The outside casing is made of wood. And painted red(original) It has definate age from being over 70 years old, but still is in overall good looking shape. The unit inside looked dirty, so I didnt want to plug it in because I know very little about these vintage pieces. It may plug in and work fine, but I will let someone play with it who knows what they are doing. Please see pictures! There is a sticker on the back that reads: DYNAMIC MODEL= 110-60. There are no cracks or chips. It is MISSING its head strap. One could easily fabricate their own as a replacement. Vtg Jackson Fiberglass Welding Mask Helmet Fibre Metal Steampunk Flip Up Lens Description: Up for sale is this estate rescued Jackson Products welding mask or helmet! This piece has been fitted with a Fibre-Metal 3-C Adjustable Headband so that it can be worn without a helmet. This helmet was very dirty when we recovered it. It has cleaned up well and appears to be in working order. The dark welding lens is mounted in a bakelite holder and flips up and stays up. The dark section consists of 3 lenses; 2 clear and one dark. One of the clear lenses has a gasket attached. All of the lenses have some scratches with some dark discoloration around the edges but they are still good visually. Inside the flip section is an additional clear lens to protect the wearer when the outer shield is flipped up. This lens has some minor scratching. But is not ... morecracked. The hold down spring has minor surface corrosion as seen in the photos. There are two thumb screws on either side to set the tension that allows the whole mask to be held up when raised. The fiberglass pattern is very pronounced on the outside of the mask giving it a very cool look! The outside of the flip up section is marked“Jackson” Inside the mask is marked“Jackson Products Inc USA” We don't see any cracks or breaks in the outside fiberglass or the bakelite lens holder. There are some red marks on the outside of the mask as shown in the photos. This may have been some artwork done by the original owner. This mask measures 13" tall x 8 1/4" across the side x 7 3/4" from back edge to the front of the lens holder. This is a very cool old helmet! Thank You! Very cool vintage Jackson welding mask. Made out of fiberglass. This mask has a lot of character to it. The eyepieces are both functional and in good shape(with original glass) This one is a little different than most masks. As it has a leather neck guard in place. The mask is in vintage condition, with a lot of distress around the mask which add a lot of character to the piece. I found this welder's helmet while cleaning out an old homestead. It still looks in good usable condition. Looks like it is made of fiberglass and very sturdy by Jackson- USA. There are a series of small holes around the perimeter used to attach(sewn) a cloth hood. I removed the hood as it's condition was debatable. Not sure if this model came with the hood or if the owner added it. At any rate you could certainly add one of your own. Helmet does exhibit some scuffs. Etc. due to age and use but is very clean.
