Fred Harris presidential campaign button, 1976 hopeful, Oklahoma
This is an original Fred Harris presidential campaign button. It is from 1976 when Harris sought the Democratic presidential nomination. He had also sought the nomination in 1972. Harris had been a U.S. senator from Oklahoma. His 1976 campaign is rememberd for being very frugal. He mostly traveled the country in an RV and stayed in private homes whenever possible. He had a nice run for a while but gradually fell back and out. This interesting button is about 1 5/8 inches in size. It is in very good condition. See the scan to judge the condition for yourself.
