VERY NICE VINTAGE NECKLACE BLACK GLASS & RHINESTONES - MOURNING JEWELRY
This is an unusual vintage costume necklace made from eight strands of black glass beads with a brass closing clasp/pendant with a flower design and black rhinestones. It measures 15” long open and the pendant measures approximately 1 3/4” diameter. I am not sure of the age. But it is very well crafted. This piece is in what I consider to be good to very good condition for its age, although I should mention one strand of beads appears to be missing and there is apparently a missing rhinestone near the clasp on the pendant(see pictures) This lovely necklace is among many fine retro, vintage and antique collectible jewelry pieces I have recently acquired and am offering here. The black glass beads are also in excellent vintage condition. The necklace measures 22 inches on the outside but really falls where an 18 inch piece would fall since the v shaped base is inflexible. The bottom of the necklace, inflexible portion is 3.5 inches wide and 2.5 inches long, Chain is flexible and drapes beautifully. The matching earrings are in the same very good vintage condition as the necklace. They are for pierced ears. Earrings measure 2 inches long from the top solitaire cz to the bottom. I know it's older since I've had it at least 20 years and it wasn't new then so if you have any questions or comments do send them. The black and white half and half necklace is 17" long. The white beads are smooth and the back are faceted, I washed it after I took the pictures so anything on the white washed off. The black and white necklace with the white beads with black scribbles is 16" counting the hook, the beads are irregularly shaped like pebbles but the finish is smooth. The bracelet has two rows of faceted black beads 8" long, 1" wide. It is some type of metal base because it stretches to fit on your wrist. It is frosted with a picture of a black lady on the one side of the outside and on the other side of the glass there is a"keyhole" which you peek through and it shows the black lade nude.
