These boots were custom made for the original owner. They would fit a leg with a slim calf. My husband wears a size 11 M and his foot fit comfortably into the bottom of the boot. Up for bid is a set of men's ice skates. All it has on the skates is Biltrite Special N.H.L. rules committee Officially Approved Safety Guard CANADA. There is no other marks or names on the blade. On the back of the leather it has; Franklin Blazer. The shoe store thinks the skates are a men's 8 Medium. The skates are from an estate sale and I do not know a lot about them. The leather is good and shows some wear. There are no shoe laces. The shoe lace hooks at the top of the skate are all good. The blades are very good with some rust but very little. German holster for Walther PPk pistol of pre 1945 era. Holster is made of solid dark-brown cowhide leather. All stitching is tight and nothing tends to loosen. On the break away flap a hallmark is imprinted consisting of 2 crossed rifles and pistols surrounded by oak leaves. Underneath is an abbreviation Akah visible standing for the German manufacturer A lbrecht K ind a us H unstig. Above the hallmark we find four letters D.R.G.M. that reveals D eutsches R eichs G ebrauchs M uster. This a trademark and is a kind of intellectual property marking comparing to a patent but on a lower protection level. The carrying loop is of the wide design to fit military as well as political uniform belts. The closure stud is made of nickel plated brass. Akah-made holsters reveal an extremely high level of leather craftsmanship and this holster is in excellent ... morecondition. Leather is very thick and solid. Holster has not been treated with new leather preservative. Shoe cream or other fluids. All in the as received state. A real and honest pre 1945 relic for the German holster and/or Walther pistol collector who wants an original in the as-received accoutrement to rig up his gun. Holster comes out of a German collection and therefore will be shipped from Germany directly to the buyer. Vintage 1970's Brooks B72 Leather Saddle: Brown, Original Clamp, Nice Patina
Sure. You can buy a brand new B72 saddle and have a flawless, smooth leather surface any day. But how often do you run across a vintage example that's aged as nicely as this one? It has a nice patina and the required cracking patterns, yet the leather is still very flexible and properly tensioned. A delicate balance for sure. Best guess is 1960's or 1970's from the rear badge. The B72 was introduced in 1935. It features a unique integrated rail/ spring system. Which was patented by Brooks in the late 1800's. These springs are rather effective without giving the"bouncy" affect that the Brooks B66 and B67 have with their large visible rear springs. Condition Great vintage used condition. The leather has a rather uniform wear throughout. Creating that nice"aged" look. The leather bends and gives easily, without ... moreany crackling sounds. Plenty of tension, yet flexible enough to be comfortable. Rails and frame are in excellent condition with no rust. Rivets have a light patina to them. Badge looks great. Avocet Touring III Saddle: Brown Leather
Avocet Touring saddles are much loved throughout the touring and retro MTB world. They're often used on early Stumpjumpers. Bridgestone MB1& RB1's, etc. A high quality leather saddle that has passed the test of time. The leather on this one has a nice marbled color, that cannot be appreciated by the photos. The Touring III(3) model has a firmer shell and padding than the Touring 1 and Touring 2, and also features alloy rails. Condition Great lightly used shape. Leather has just been conditioned. And is very soft without any cracking or signs of deterioration. Undersides of leather are not peeling up at all. Only minor wear from normal use. Decals are a bit worn off. There's a small nick on the front/left of the nose. Rails are a bit scratched up, but could easily be sanded and polished.
