But with the right accessory rods, the welder is capable of welding up to 1/8 inch steel in a single pass. Can be used for heating metal using carbon arc rods(a bit hard to find and very old school, AKA carbon arc torch) and can also cut steel. Hence, the“Tri-Arc” name. I have a great working thermal arc tig welder that's awesome on aluminum and welds stainless and mild steel easily. Machine works perfect as it should and all controls work. It is 220 volt single phase and comes with power cord. Foot control, torch, slide control, instant on switch, regulator and hose, basically everything but an argon tank. This welder was used very little and was used to weld some aluminum inter-cooler piping and to make a custom stainless steel downpipe and a few other small projects but that's it and it is very nice.my eyes aren't what they used to be so I would just like some cash to purchase something else instead of this thing just sitting around unused.
