Some scratches to the front panel and generally showing the kind of wear and tear that something of this vintage typically gains from being in a working environment. So if you are looking for a pristine example of this unit. I’m afraid this one isn’t it. On the other hand it isn’t at all uncommon to find these in surplus with the glass broken or badly chipped. On this one the glass is in good condition. I felt one small chip on the inner edge but running my finger around the top I feel nothing but smooth glass. So I am guessing that pulling a vacuum won’t be an issue; if it is it probably won’t have anything to do with the glass. As you can see in the pictures there are no power indicator lights on the front of the unit. When plugged in and powered up the only indication that it is alive is the faint hum of a transformer. I pulled the back off just to make sure it had not been stripped of any parts. And as far as I can tell everything is in there. But the unit is unresponsive to the minimal controls on the front panel. I am theorizing that perhaps there is a vacuum interlock that prevents it from doing anything until a usable vacuum level is attained. But that is just a theory. Not a statement of fact. I list it as used because for all I know if you added a vacuum pump to the equation it might fire right up. But then again it might not. That is the extent of my testing and NO warranty is offered. However. IF you pay the asking price and find it has a problem you cannot live with within 14 days of receipt you may return it. Returns are ONLY allowed on Buy It Now Purchases. Some scratches to the front panel and generally showing the kind of wear and tear that something of this vintage typically gains from being in a working environment. So if you are looking for a pristine example of this unit. I’m afraid this one isn’t it. On the other hand it isn’t at all uncommon to find these in surplus with the glass broken or badly chipped. On this one the glass is in good condition. I felt one small chip on the inner edge but running my finger around the top I feel nothing but smooth glass. So I am guessing that pulling a vacuum won’t be an issue; if it is it probably won’t have anything to do with the glass. As you can see ... morein the pictures there are no power indicator lights on the front of the unit. When plugged in and powered up the only indication that it is alive is the faint hum of a transformer. I pulled the back off just to make sure it had not been stripped of any parts. And as far as I can tell everything is in there. But the unit is unresponsive to the minimal controls on the front panel. I am theorizing that perhaps there is a vacuum interlock that prevents it from doing anything until a usable vacuum level is attained. But that is just a theory. Not a statement of fact. I list it as used because for all I know if you added a vacuum pump to the equation it might fire right up. But then again it might not. That is the extent of my testing and NO warranty is offered.
