Step up boost transformer to run 480 volt mill or lathe on 240 volts
This is a shop made step up transformer. It was in a shop that I bought all the equipment from. The owner used this transformer to run a 480 volt 3 phase milling machine and a 480 volt 3 phase lathe. I think the transformer came from a welder. He had the transformer wired with 220 volt single phase input voltage. The 480 volt single phase output voltage circuit was connected to a used 480 volt 3 phase idler motor and some capacitors to convert the current to 3 phase. I may have some used 3 phase motors and capacitors. Give me a call with your application and I will list the items you need on eBay. I don't know the KVA but the lathe had a 5 horse power motor and the mill had a 2 horse power motor on it This transformer is shop made and well built.
