Elk Forest Farms. Inc. has a used John Deere 440 crawler loader backhoe up for auction. I am unsure of the exact year of the machine. The machine is powered by a 2-cylinder GM 2-cycle diesel engine. The engine starts with starting fluid and runs strong. The transmission has 4 speeds forward and one speed reverve. All gears seem to work well as does the engine clutch. The machine steers both ways. The backhoe has some patching and welding done to it as the pictures show. We sandblasted it and repainted it with factory JD enamels. We put a brand new seat on it. The machine is an older machine however it is slow and steady. The backhoe attachment can be removed from the machine quite easily and reinstalled when needed.
