This is an Asco Red-Hat II solenoid valve that looks to be in great condition. It was removed from a machine that was taken out of service. The valve shows very little wear. It was used as shutoff for water to a glass washing unit. As soon as they were removed the ends were capped. I have two of these available. History of these valves: These solenoid valves are considered used surplus from a nuclear power plants hydrogen monitoring system. They were qualified and used principally in a system that monitors accident hydrogen levels should there be a nuclear incident at the power plant. These were qualified by“type test” to operate for one year in the normal power plant environmental conditions and then be able to operate for at least 180 days in severe accident and post accident harsh conditions. The qualification for accident conditions ... moreare very severe and you would never see such conditions(Temperatures. Radiation, humidity, and pressure) in any application you can dream of! In no more than a year in normal operating conditions. The utility replaces the solenoid valve with new ones. This assures that the valve is in near pristine conditions should a nuclear accident occur at any time and even close to their end of“qualified life” Realistically. These valves have more than 20 years(and more likely 40 years) of expected life in normal operating conditions. Since these valves were installed and then removed prior to the 1 year of operation(typically from 9 to 12 months operations) They have many more years of life left. I have several NP832093V ASCO solenoid valves and am offering them for sale. I have taken a good percentage of these and powered them to assure that the solenoid still works. In all cases the characteristic sound of the valve shifting states can be clearly heard. I did not test the valves under flow conditions or any other testing.
