Hickok Tube Tester Meter#2- Nice! Here's a second Hickok tube tester meter from my collection. The meter face is absolutely pristine. But there is no nomenclature on the face or rear of the meter to indicate its intended use. However, I have photos of an identical appearing meter on the Hickok models 530, 530B, 540, 547, 560 and 560SPL tube testers. Full scale sensitivity of this meter is 1.42 mA as measured on my Fluke digital meter. Hickok used odd FS values for their tube tester meters. Needle movement is not as smooth as on the other meter I have listed, but it gets there with repeatable accuracy- occasionally with a light tap on the face. The meter seems to be unused with the factory shorting clip still in place on the terminals. I don't have any info on the AC-510X that would tell me what the sensitivity should be. But it measures 0.845 mA FS with my Fluke digital meter. Hickok used odd FS values in its tube tester meters. Vtg HICKOK 209A VTVM Vacuum Tube Voltmeter Volt Ohm Capacitor METER Radio Tester
Here is a vintage Hickok model 209A VTVM vacuum tube voltmeter and capacitance capacitor tester meter. In good to VG physical condition, and sort-of-working electrical condition- both the"center zero" and regular"zero" functions work fine, meter needle moves smoothly and evenly throughout entire range, all tubes test strong, and all components(except power cord) look original so may well need some replacing of out-of-spec capacitors and resistors, so selling as a to-repair set- but you're off to a good start with this one. No probes or paperwork. Very large and fairly heavy, they don't make'em like this anymore, and the huge analog meter can be seen across any room! The pointer moves freely when the unit is rocked back and forth. The case is clear plastic. It had been in a Ham shack with old Home-made equipment. This meter was removed from a huge power supply. The equipment was stored in a harsh environment for decades and the clear plastic meter case has some scratches and shows wear. The back has a few cracks. But it is held together well. Pictured testing a 12AX7, 5U4 and a 6D6, user panel looks good and all controls are good, the roll chart works well though it tends to get a bit off center, the metal case has some minor dings and scratches, missing two feet off the bottom and one on the back, the latch, hinges and handle are good. The roll chart lists settings for many early types of tubes not usually found on most testers and many not on the chart can be downloaded from BAMA. No manuals included but this is a very user friendly tester that operates very similar to the Heathkit TC-2/3 and EICO 625/628 testers and most likely is based on the same circuit design, manuals and extended tube chart can be found at BAMA, BAMA only shows manuals for the 3413-A and chart for the 3413 but they are very similar to this 3413-B, I ... moretried a few settings off the 3413 chart and they do work for this tester, overall a nice working tube tester that would be great for someone who tests mostly early radio tubes. This is a Hickok 539 Tube Tester Meter. Not sure which model it came from, A, B or C. I'm selling this as is. It works and the needle moves freely but it should be checked and calibrated. Overall it's in really great condition the glass is clean and clear, the black casing is a few minor surface scratches on it but looks nice and shiny. G. Industries in Florida do all of my tube tester repairs and calibrations. As far as I know. They are the only engineers that have the full 18 page factory calibration procedures for the 3444. Plate current can also be read on the main meter when the correct switch is set. I have this meter on my own 3444 and after using it. With this new meter, I am amazed at how fast I can test several dozen dual triode, 6922s now. The 3444 was fast before because of the toggle switch between triodes that eliminated the need to change pin settings to go from Triode 1 to Triode 2; now it is even faster. This is the most accurate and fastest tester I have ever used in almost 25 years of selling tubes. My reference testers for years were the Hickok 539C and the Hickok-made KS 15750-L2/RD 1575. Scroll chart and meter are illuminated-this makes them much easier to read. Cosmetically. I would rate the case and the instrument panel as 9.0 out of 10. The second photo was taken before the digital meter was added. The square cut out in the case on photo 11 is for the power cord. They all came from the factory with this cut out. Greeting Hickok test equipment Lovers and Collectors! Up for auction is a Hickok 510X vacuum tube tester/ vom meter. This is one of Hickok's earliest testers and was discontinued in 1935. The case is in rough condition and needs to be stripped of its covering and refurbished.The face plate on the tester is in good condition.A little cleaning will make it very presentable. The plug has been cut off of the cord and one of the knobs and three resistors were found under the electronics in the case. I know from experience that technicians often cut the plug and removed knobs to prevent anyone from trying to operate a piece of equipment they deemed to be non-functional. I believe that to be the case with this tester. Military TV-7A/U tube tester. The tester was fully serviced and calibrated by Dan Nelson in March 2014 and has been an excellent tester but I have 2 of them and only need 1 so I am selling this one. I had the didital meter installed for better accuracy and took photos of the invoice from Dan so you can zoom in and see for yourself what was done and the digital meter is by far the best way to go on these testers and I love it and as you can see it was not cheap but well worth the money. The switch& socket panel is in excellent shape with very minimal to no wear and the outer case is better than most. Also it has been upgraded to the 3 prong grounded power cord for safety. It is missing the tube test data book. The rings for the book and the adapters for the odd ball tubes that I have never needed anyway so I removed them so they were out ... moreof the way and now cant find where I put them and you are better of to get the latest updated copy of the test data from here on Ebay anyway as it is much easier to read and has more data and they are cheap. Tapping on it will get it to read, but it is very erratic and needs repair or replacement. Checked with 5U4 and 6L6. Here is an ugly duckling tube tester. It needs a meter cover but other than that it is complete. It does work but I'm sure it will need calibration etc. when I tested it the meter seemed to be jumpy also so you may want to check the rectifier tubes in it or the capacitors. Do you have a Russian or German tube and can’t test them? Read on… This tester was rebuilt and recalibrated by C.G. Industries in Florida. A rebuild consists of replacing almost every part. Including any part that does not read exactly as it should.
