Type J-7-A, date 1921. Order no. 141082, mfg. by L.S. Brach Mfg. Co. Newark, N.J. J-7-A Army Signal Corps keys have a"winker light" on the 2-1/2" x 5-1/2" phenolic base. These early and scarce J type keys were used in aircraft during and after World War I. The light. Which is connected in parallel with the key contacts, provides feedback to the operator in the noisy environment. In some applications two keys were attached to the radio; the winker allowed the observer to see what the pilot was transmitting. The hood is removable. When found the bulb is usually missing; any D.C. bayonet base bulb may be used for display ... morepurposes. This J-7-A was made by L.S. Brach and has an order date of 1921. It is complete(except for the bulb) and original as shown in the photos. Decades of storage have resulted in the lever being very stiff; penetrating oil may loosen it up. However it does work as tested on my oscillator. W.W.I American U.S. Army Wool Uniform Tunic With Signal Corps & US Collar Disc
This U.S. Army wool tunic has seen some action. There are several soldier made repairs. Some of which are visible in the photos. There are holes and wear hole at the cuffs of the sleeves and wear to the tunic lining. Otherwise, there is a repair to the sleeve, a repair to the back seam where it looks like the original seam just pulled apart, and several other minor repairs. There are also some stains on the tunic commensurate with use. The tunic has an enlisted U.S. collar disc and an enlisted Signal Corps collar disc, both screw backs. If you are looking for a pristine, un-issued tunic this one is not for you. But if you want a piece in your collection that looks like it survived life in the trenches, this just might be it. Original WWII US Army Signal Corps Officer's Dress A Service Hat Plus 3 WWII Garrison Hats& Web Dress Belt This is a WWII US Army Signal Corps(officer) veteran's Dress A service hat and 3 garrison hats which recently came from his wife's estate- he passed several years ago. Unfortunately. There was no family at the estate and I couldn't find out more about him beyond the fact of his WWII service of about 3 years and that he ended with the rank of lieutenat colonel. He or one of his sons was invloved in the Boy Scouts here in the Albuquerque area in the early to mid 1960s. I have one of his Boy Scout items in one of my other listings. The hat is a Knox with an"Acid Test" marked and brilliant gold/guilt Army eagle of the early"V" wing type. This service hat also appears to be an early WWII type with the ... moreknit wool border. This awesome hat is in very fine to near excellent condition and the leather bill is better than I've ever seen on a WWII Dress A hat. I don't know if it was treated long ago. Or just perfectly stored- it is flexible and has no cracks at all. It could use a little brown shoe polish and a spit shine! I could not find oe moth nip and the only evidence of wear is near where the eagle has been pinned. Don't know how it was stored all these years but it is definitely nearly impossible to upgrade! Two of garrison hats are unmarked as to maker. But the dark brown elastique wool"high" peak version features the complete original size tag(7-3/8) and a silk type lining. It is in very fine+ condition with no issues. The mustard(lighter brown) garrison hat is in fine+ to near very fine condition and it was worn extensively as indicated by the wear on the leather sweatband. The WWI style garrison hat(used through early WWII) does have the full manufacturer's label and possibly the original PX price written in(I have a second picture that shows the complete tag- it's twice as long as pictured) It has a late 1942 date and probably wasn't wor
