This transfer switch gets wired directly into your electrical panel and feeds electric to the panel from your gas powered, portable generator, regulating the electrical load to your house. I used this transfer switch for a number of power outages, including Hurricane Sandy for over 8 days without a problem. Up for auction is a Reliance 31406CRK Transfer Switch that has been used about a year. This unit is 100% functional and was only replaced because we needed more than 6 circuits after a rewiring job. I replaced this unit with a 10 circuit unit from Reliance. This transfer switch makes things quick and easy when the power goes out. From powering up the generator to getting some lights back on is less than 5 minutes thanks to this unit. This unit is designed for quick installation. This transfer switch can handle up to a 7500 watt generator with a 30 amp output. Reliance transfer switch. Installed but never used. It was not compatible with the generator that had a built in GFIC(Honda) Kept tripping the generator GFIC. Cord is not included in the sale. As I had to splice the cord to get the length i needed. Of course the box store I bought it at will not take back electricals. So basically never used, was installed(wire insulation was stripped from connections, some writing on the breaker labels, but not used at all, does not come with cord. Here are the key notes of the condition and what I've done with it 1) Upgraded with 20A breakers where there were 15A breakers.
