The tractor has a new metal one piece hood(made in USA) seat, and other parts. It has a good front end, fair to good rubber all around. Lastly it is a very late 71 with a synchro transmission. I have owned this tractor for 10 years cutting and baling 17 acres of hay. This is a diesel tractor. I am pretty sure the hours are correct. It shows 6775hrs on the meter. The tractor has dual remotes. A#46 front loader and the tires are in very good condition. It has a factory block heater but I have never needed to use it in SW Ohio. I replaced the 2 batteries a couple of years ago with JD batteries. The tractor is 12 volt. All gauges work. This tractor has the Power Shift transmission. All gears work as they should. This is a nice John Deere 4020 diesel with an M& W turbo added. Horsepower should be somewhere around 116(Same setup as a JD 4320) The sheetmetal is in very nice condition and the paint is good too. This is not a show tractor just a great farm tractor that looks as good as it runs. Tractor has the synchro shift transmission. Dual remotes, 540 and 1000 pto, new rear rims and newer front wheels. All of the tires are at least 70% It also comes with a John Deere ROPS and fiberglass canopy. Just installed 2 new Interstate 12volt batteries. All of the lights are in working order. Instead. I found myself working on other things and not the tractor. It runs good and does drive around. The clutch and brakes work. It seems to shift pretty good too. The power steering works great. The rims seem pretty good around the stems. I didn't actually use this tractor to farm with, just tinkered with it. It does need some things fixed to be used daily. It needs: tune up, starter solenoid, correct battery box and cable, fuel line fixed, a couple of pieces of sheet metal, the other side of the 3 point. It does run good one started, but needs the carburetor gone through. I bought this tractor off of the second owner and this thing is about an original tractor as you will find. The person that I bought it off of has owned it for the last 15 years and he had 29 acres of food plots that he would disc up and that is all he used it for. As you can see in the pics there is a side battery holder and that is because he did not want to buy the right batteries so he just used 2 car batteries and started it. That is what we used to get it running when I loaded it. When I unloaded it I just jumped the clutch while it was rolling off the trailer and it fired right up. I bought this tractor at a auction. This tractor runs good. It is not the prettiest thing in the world but it still has a lot of life left in it. It shifts through all the gears like it should the brakes work and the three point works it does need a linkage cable for the3 point. Rare John Deere 4020 diesel with sound guard cab powershift one of a kind!!!!!!
Well up for sale today is a bit of a rare bird. This came from a local deere dealer as a trade in. Was a local tractor wish I knew the full story on it but I do not. Here is what I do know. This is a 1968(by serial number) deere 4020 diesel with the full power shift trans. That alone is not that rare but here is where that changes. This rig at some point in time had the newer style sound guard style cab added, from the cab model looks to be from a 30 series deere. Has working factory heater, wipers, lights etc. From there, the powershift assembly was mounted to the right side of operator seat like the newer ones. I normally don't like to buy rigs that have been modified like this but they did a super job. I call this the tractor John Deere wishes they had built. Starting with a good solid base of the legendary 4020, add a sound guard ... morecab then put the power shift where it should be! Other features include 2 remotes, and good 18.4-38 rear rubber 540/1000 rpm pto. Brakes work great. Trans shifts great, runs nice. Has a plug in block heater for the cold days. Cosmetics are decent, tinwork is pretty straight etc but it is faded and could use paint. Cab in decent shape with exception of headliner. I also noticed a cab u-bolt missing to frame. Also, pto engament lever due to the placement in cab they had to make a little tab to hold in engaged position. Works fine, engages and disengages fine but just wanted to note that. Would not take a whole lot to really restore this rare one of a kind 4020! Could also just put it back to work. Priced at $19,900. We put a new clutch and pressure plate in this tractor this winter, also a real main engine seal, new batteries, and cables and a starter. We changed the original injection pump out to the new style jdb pump, the pump and lines are all from john deere. The tractor runs and drives really good. Solid Tractor. Was overhauled 2 years ago, new crank, new pistons, sleeves, rings, etc. injectors and fuel pump as well as hydraulic pump. Looks like crap but I have the cover as well as the side panels for the front. It is a 24vdc system. I changed the generator and it has two new batteries. Up for auction today is a 1965 John Deere 4020 with the diesel engine. I have had this tractor for about 7 years and it has been a good one. Has been mainly used for shredding and hay field work. Has not been treated like crap at all. It has been taken care of and kept in the barn when not in use. Tractor seat is in good shape with no tears. Injection pump was rebuilt about a year ago, new batteries as of November 2013. Tractor hour meter is stuck on about 3000hrs. It was that way when I got it and I've probably put 1000hrs on it since I've owned it. Tractor starts and runs great, however it does have some blowby at start up but that goes away in a few minutes. Leaks some hydraulic fluid from the rear remote and a some at the power steering pump. Does not leak oil. Tires are in good shape. Up for auction we have a 1965 john deere 4020 serial number Snt233r095298r. I bought this tractor with the intentions to fix it up and I just never got around to it. Nor do I have the time. The tractor turns over and has good compression but I haven't tried to start it. It is going to need some fuel line work. A fuel filter, and the oil cooler that goes in front of the radiator. The last owner told me that it got parked because the oil cooler went out on it. So it is going to need attention on that side of things. The transmission shifts into all of the gears good and the clutch moves as it should. It has a rockshaft. It came with a set of lift arms for it but they are rough as pictured. It has the original toplink bracket that is usually missing. It has a pto and hydraulics. It is missing the seat bracket, all of the seat suspension ... moreis there tho. All of the tin work is what I would say is rough. It could be fixed but it is in tough shape, it's as simple as that. It's dented and would need straightening. The knee is good on the right side. But the left hand knee has been broken and repaired in the past. If I was going to restore it I would get an after market knee for it since they are available. It has the correct Highcrop oil pan and radius rods. The radius rods need some work aswell. The rear drops are in good condition with no breaks or welds that I could see. The rear tires hold air, but the fronts are junk. They will need to be replaced. So As you can see this needs some tlc and could be used as is again or it could make a nice restoration project. It would even make a good parts tractor for the Highcrop parts to be transferred over onto a 4020 in better shape. If you have any questions feel free to give me a call at 815 901 2231. This tractor is the ORIGINAL John Deere tractor from the 1984 movie"Footloose" directed by Herbert Ross and starring Kevin Bacon and Lori Singer. I purchased this tractor two years ago from the farm where the movie was actually filmed. The tractor was being sold because the farm was being divided and turned into a subdivision. I have been running the tractor for the past two years without a problem. But being that this tractor is an incredible collectible. I'd like to sell it to someone possibly interested in restoring it and adding it to their collection to keep this unique tractor as part of movie history. It's an especially pertinent time since this year is the 30th anniversary of the movie's debut. This tractor appeared in the movie as a prop for one of the main dance scenes. The transmission shifts into all of the gears and the clutch operates smooth. The tractor steers easy and brakes nice. This was a Colorado tractor and was very well cared for and maintained. The tin work is in good straight condition and would clean up very easily. All four tired hold air and the rims are all in good condition. The coolant system is full of good clean antifreeze and has no leaks. It has the correct and original all fuel head and manifold. It is hard to find an all fuel manifold that is in this good of shape. It is going to need a set of manifold gaskets tho. It is missing the little gas tank but. Up for auction I have a john deere 4020 gas. I bought it this summer because I needed to use it for some farm maintenance. As far as I know the Tractor was used to bale hay before I bought it. The tractor runs like the beast it is. Starts right up. And goes anywhere. The carb has been rebuilt, new points, after market lights with switch, Block heater works, I had new spark plugs, fuel filter, oil filter/change, and a new intake manifold. Up for auction I have a 1959 john deere 430W serial number 155828. The tractor starts by the push of the button and runs out good. It had been sitting for a couple years. I changed the points and it fired right up and has great oil pressure. It could maybe use a carb kit but the more I run it the better it's gotten. It has good power and doesn't smoke. The coolant system is full of antifreeze and doesn't leak. It has factory powersteering which is a very rare option on these! Very few came with the factory power steering system. I bought this out of a collection and the previous owner claimed it had been restored as an ag tractor but was an industrial. Up for auction I have a 1957 john deere 820 rice special serial number 8203595. This tractor is the hard to find rice version with the big rubber(23.1 26) and mud shields that cover the axles and brakes as pictured. The tractor starts up and runs absolutely perfect. The guy I had bought it off of said that it was running a thresher and broke the crankshaft on the clutch pulley. So the owner at that time took it to deere and had a brand new crankshaft installed and the motor was rebuilt at that time as well. This was done In the 80s and it has about a 1000 hrs of run time on it since the rebuild. It runs absolutely perfect and doesn't miss a beat. I just put new coils and a carb kit in the pony. Up for auction I have a 1958 John Deere crawler 440C. Serial number 441351. It starts up by the push off a button. It runs very smooth. The transmission goes into all gears and the clutch works just like it should! The steering works in both directions. Both levers also may need some adjusting. The loader hydraulics operate fast and smooth. I recently lifted up a 3.000 lbs tractor rear-end with it and it handled it fine. Has 4 weights on rear end of it. Undercarriage is in good shape. About 60% of it remains and the radiator is full of anti-freeze. The bottom of the front cast iron nose is broken off at that bottom. Up for auction I have a 1959 John deere 430 Lp 143058. This is a rare Dubuque. 1 of only 88 produced making this a very hard tractor to find. The tractor starts up and runs perfect. I just rebuilt the motor in it and it has just shy of an hour of run time on it since. It idles down to almost a dead stop. The radiator is full of good clean coolant. The transmission shifts into all of the gears as it should. The transmission has the unusual noise that these Dubuque have in the higher range gears. The clutch operates good and smooth. The steering is good and tight and doesn't have slop in it like they usually do. The pto operates like it should. It has a full three point hitch including the top link. The tractor is compete except for it is missing the generator. The tin work is all in fairly good condition. It has a couple small dents and ... moredings but it would straighten out with ease. The rear fenders aren't rusted out and only have a couple small dents. The rims are all in good shape and the rear tires have good tread and hold air. They are mix matched tread tho.
