A vintage(1959) used Pflueger 1495 Medalist R.H. retrieve fly reel with rectangular Diamolite Line Guard, adjustable drag, dual click, and"Made in Akron O USA" stamped on reel body. Mechanically sound but with tackle box rash in original paint including scrapes, rubs, dings. and"wear" spots, especially on body edges. I've used Medalist reels for 55-years and this one still has a lot of life left in it. Included is a spare spool, most likely from the late 1930's, with an amber colored plastic handle and an aluminum spool latch cover. Both spools have old fly lines on them that in my opinion are in poor condition and probably not usable except for display purposes. Being offered"as is. Thanks for looking.

This is a rare and extraordinary antique Chinese purse that is finely made of silk and gold thread embroidered onto silk. The embroidered front is sewn onto a cotton backing which provides the face and top flap of the purse. The body of the purse. Comprised of several expandable compartments, is composed of heavy cotton. All of this wonderful purse is carefully and expertly hand-sewn. There is a 5 cm(2 in. wide loop on the back, likely for the purse to be worn on a belt. This exquisite purse measures 12.4 cm(4 7/8 in. in length. 8.9 cm(3 1/2 in. in width, and 1.9 cm(3/4 in. in thickness. It is in very good condition for its age with only minor losses to the embroidery, silk and edges and some light fading. Massive Plat Book: Cleveland, OH, ca. 1912, with about 50 two-page maps
Vol. 1 Only. ca. 1912-1920. Damage to the title page(as shown) makes certainty about the date impossible. But some of the maps at the end are copyrighted 1912, and some additions to some of the maps seem to be dated as late as 1920. Massive book of Plat-maps from Cleveland Ohio: this book weighs about 20 pounds and measures almost 24" x 17" x 2 1/2" All the maps seem to be present: about 50 maps, plus four additional pages of indexes. Each map is a double page(thus, about 23" x 34" all are mounted on cloth backing, so that they are not printed on one another's backs. Some maps have hand-written notes; some have pre-printed addenda glued into place to show newer developments. Given the heavy wear to the covers. And the damage to the title page, this book might be best broken up to sell the maps individually, but ... moreI don't have the heart to break up any book. But one expects that these large individual maps will be worth 40 or 50 dollars or more each. And the maps at the end: the water system, the sewer system, the paving surfaces of Cleveland's major streets, should be worth even more. According to the German Antiques site"Efineantiaue Fine Porcelain" my reasearch has found that this bowl probably was maufactured by JKW products under their own name. JKW is for Josef Kuba Porcelain Factory and Decorating Shop who decorated in the"Vienna Style" It was established in Carlsbad around 1930 and then re-established after World War II in Wiesau. Bavaria, Germany. Source: Directory of European Porcelain by Danckert, page 496) Later marks of JKW include the words Western Germany, used after Germany was divided into East and West in late 1949. This bowl's marking says Germany(not Western Germany) so it was manufactured before Germany was divided into East and West. The center of the gravy bowl is cream colored with beatufully decorated gold colored floral design. The painting around the perimeter shows different ... moresceens that"tells the story" of the man and woman courtship and falling in love. Each painting is separated by lovely beaded gold colored paint. This paint. There is some slight wear to the thin gold paint around the rim. A beautiful pair of Sadanobu Hasegawa(1809-1879) woodblock prints dating from about 1876. Pieces measure@ 9" wide and 1" deep with one measuring@ 11 7/8" tall and the other at@ 11 5/8" tall. The pitcher measures approximately 9 ½” tall by 5 ½” in diameter at its widest point and 7 ¼” long from spout to handle. There is a hand written label affixed to the bottom that reads“Jackfield Ware– This pitcher made by Thomas Wieldon. Ca 1760” The label was probably added by an antiques dealer, and I can provide no additional proof of its authenticity. The pitcher is in very good condition for its age with no significant chips, cracks or defects, only some light smudging of the glossy finish in a few spots. F.B. Converse fretless 5 string banjo ca. 1883 sn: 2381
I bought this banjo in N.C. It was in a smoke house for many years and its fret board had fallen off. It was covered in oily smoke which. Fortunately, preserved its nickel pot to a great degree. It is a Frank B. Converse banjo. He was a minstrel performer and teacher. Producing, I believe, the first book on how to play the banjo. From 1883 to 1889 he sold, but did not produce, banjos under his name. These were most likely from Buckbee or Dobson but no way of knowing for sure. The serial number is 2381 but I could not find any source for serial numbers for his instruments. Although the fret board was gone there were no indications that frets were ever on this instrument. There was a slight bow in the neck so I decided to put on a fretless board as this would coincide with the period. It would also allowed me to in effect remove the bow from ... morethe neck as I could keep the fret board true to the instrument and the bow would not be obvious. I made the fret board using layers of oak veneer which were died black with Fiebing's leather dye to keep the color in period. I then sealed the fret board with a satin rub on finish. The pegs are ebony and the nuts are bone. I had to put on a skin and I added a claw style tailpiece and a Cole style bridge made out of oak. There are some scuffs on the lower part of the neck and I just left those alone because they did not affect the playing of the instrument. Crack in the peg head veneer has been sealed. I also had to tip the neck very slightly so I added and end cap to the dowel to avoid any possibility of it cracking. This instrument DOES NOT have any position markers other than the 5th string nut which is set at 6 3/32" which corresponds to the 5th fret on a 26 1/8" scale banjo. If you have played banjo for a while your fingers go where they are supposed to go. However. I will include a scale sheet for the position markers for up to 24 fret positions in case the buyer wants to add side markers. Shipping will include insurance.

This is a superb and very fine quality Japanese silver novelty salt/ pepper in the form of a rural cottage/ house. The cottage has a thatched roof with pierced holes to the side for pouring. The cottage is chased in very fine detail with grilles to the windows. Straw brushes on the ground in front of the cottage and even there are cracks to the outside plaster-work and patches where the lattice is showing through the lost plaster. The roof of the house pulls off and there is a fitted glass liner in the base. The inside of the lid has a sliding door so that the salt can be kept inside the glass liner in the base. The salt is 2-3/4 inches/ 70 mm wide and 1-7/8 inches/ 48 mm ... moredeep. It stands 2-1/4 inches/ 57 mm high and weighs 53 grams. The underside of the salt is stamped Sterling. A lovers quarrel ... moredepicted at the time as if it were today and things havent changed in the world of courtship. Love never changes. Complex yet beautiful. If you carefully examine this composition you will see that the elegantly stern female has let the love letter of forgiveness gently fall to the ground. The gentleman's expression is that of desperation and bewilderment. His posture and the swaying of the hand. It almost brings a certain sentiment in one. Yet the ensemble is so gracefully hand executed that one knows these two are soul mates as this figural is in incredible condition for its age. The lace work is about 97% intact( I have taken several close photographs for your observation) The lacework which is thin actual cloth that was dipped in porcelain and baked was an invention from Dresden that spread throughout Germany. It is all hand painted and accented with real 22 K gold paint. Large and heavy. Measures 12" long x 9" deep and 10" tall. This item will require extra materials for safe delivery. Logo on the bottom. Lot of 3 Vintage Tidewater Oil Company"Flying A Service" Maps of Portland ca. 1950s-60s. One of the maps is from"Ken's Flying A Service" on NE Sandy Blvd and is in very good shape with no rips or tears. It's from 1958. There is one from"Herb& Kirk's Associated Service" on Killingsworth and has some splits at the folds from normal use and a small tear on the back; it's from1957. The 3rd map is from 1963 and is in good shape with just a few small splits at the folds. All 3 maps are lithographs and copywrited by the H.M. Gousha company. The maps are all 30 3/8" wide when fully open and 18" tall top to bottom. The first 2 have"Veedol" motor oil advertisements on the back cover; the 3rd map has an advertisement for Tidewater's credit card. These maps are very rare and almost ... moreimpossible to find in this condition. They would be a great addition to any collector of vintage oil company memorabilia, advertising or transportation items, or maps! I can provide more pictures upon request.
