This watch sampler is executed on a fine fabric. Such a s tiffany. And chain stitched to an unwashed muslin backing. It consists of a bouquet of flowers in petit point and little motifs, possibly fleur de lis. The needlework is very fine and well executed. A watch sampler would have been made by a lady for her gentleman to carry with him in his pocket watch. This tiny love token has sadly never been used. It has been kept all these years in a glass topped cardboard box with a painted lid. Under the sampler is a printed saying on fine tissue that probably came out of a Christmas cracker. This item is an old ca. 1911 set of 4 Gorham Plymouth pattern sterling silver 5-3/8 inch cocktail forks. Or sea food forks, if you prefer, with the forks in excellent overall very lightly used condition. Forks are monogrammed(KEG' in fancy interlocked script) and have been very lightly used, but there are no significant flaws. No nicks, no bends, no significant wear marks, nor are there any other significant flaws. Forks each measure 5-3/8 inches long, they are back marked with the old Gorham sterling silver hallmarks as we are showing in the attached images, and they weigh a combined weight of 1.85 troy ounces, or 57.6 grams, on our jewelry scale. We purchased the forks at a recent Midwest estate auction, and have identified them as Gorham'Plymouth' pattern using the Terre Hagan Sterling Flatware book, where the pattern is pictured ... moreon page 57. Offered here without reserve is this gorgeous enamelware coffee pot it nickel plated metal(probably brass) that is in excellent condition. its sole apology is the two small worn areas at one side of the base as shown in picture#7. Otherwise. She;s in essentially mint condition. no discoloration, no wear to the nickel plating. Nor are the hinges, to lid and spout cover, damaged in any way. As for dimensions, she's 9 1/2" high, 8 1/4" wide from spout to handle, and 5 5/8" diameter at the base. Again, there is no reserve but buyer pays $16 for USPS domestic shipping.

This is a stunning and heavy novely double inkwell in the form of a standing rhinoceros. The rhino is superbly realized with it's thick looking scaly skin. The rhinoceros's back is hinged and opens to reveal two glass inkwells. The inkwell is large. It is 7-1/2 inches/ 191 mm wide and 2-3/4 inches/ 70 mm deep. It stands 4 inches/ 101 mm high and weighs a huge 1.596 grams. The underside has maker's mark Geschutz. The inkwell is in excellent condition with no dents. Damage or repair. The Neandertal was named after theologian Joachim Neander. Who lived nearby in Düsseldorf in the late 17th century. Neander" is a classicized form of the common German surname Neumann. In turn, Neanderthals were named after"Neander Valley" where the first Neanderthal remains were found. The term Neanderthal Man was coined in 1863 by Anglo-Irish geologist William King. From the period called"Mousterian" 150 000- 40 000 b.c. tools made of stone. Settlement sites and some parts of human skulls were found. Evidence for hunters and collectors in this period was found in Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg and other parts of Germany. Neanderthals are thought to have used tools of the Mousterian class. The enterprise is now titled"Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort" and its address of Highway 88, Jackson, has been added to the inlay, so you have no excuse for not finding the casino! Except it isn't really on Highway 88 but the gas station is) Paulson with reverse hats-and-canes mold. Inlay design shows crossed feathers and an acorn against rays of light(on either side of the chip) 3 blue-green inserts on light tan outer ring. These chips are currently used ONLY at the blackjack tables on the floor, and under the casino lighting, they look a lot like the white $1 chips; only the inserts give them away.
