You're bidding on a 50 uA panel meter removed from a working Lionel 6B CD V-700 geiger counter. The meter is mfr'd by Phaostron Inst. Electronic Co. Its full-scale measured 49.7 uA. In addition to the usual fine surface scratches. There appears to be something that etched the plastic face in the lower right-hand corner, and a smaller area slightly above it. Lab-grade Geiger Counter W.B. Johnson GSM-110 AND Gamma Scintillation Probe
This is a buyers market! Kind of depressing on my end. But a lot better on your end than it will be a few months down the line. The William B. Johnson company is often overlooked with their trademark blue and newer bright yellow meters. Their products are among the best in the industry. And this meter is no exception. The counters they make look sort of like Ludlum, have circuitry that has the electronic complexity of a Bicron. They last, and they have accessible circuitry which makes user-modification an easy venture. They have nearly twice the range of a CDV-700, and will work with many probes that aren't easily powered by many other meters. Natural mineral check source and factory user manual are included. It has a current calibration(good until August. 2015) which far exceeds the NRC standard. The GSM-110 meter is equipped with a ... morebright saturation warning light and low battery warning light on the face. The meter has a unique internal variable probe gain potentiometer. And in this particular combination, the probe has an external gain potentiometer. While it works well and functions straightforwardly for novice users, it's sort of like driving a stick shift; there's an added degree of user control for people who want an added degree of performance. This allows for very accurate and quick calibration to a source of known activity for use with the milliRoentgen/hour scale, making this an excellent dosimeter in addition to a rate meter. The 250 CPM per 1mR/hour scaling is ideal for professional use in the field of health physics. The industry standard GM probe; the LND-725(an updated version of the tube used in CDV 700 probes. Or the newer HP-270 probes) detects cesium 137 at this rate consistently, which means 250 CPM will always equal 1mR/hour, 500 will equal 2mR/hour, etc. It's designed this way and not merely a coincidence. Vintage Nestle's Hot Fudge Sundae Soda Fountain Counter Top Warmer -Helmco
The warmer likely dates from the 1950's. If not earlier. It is a great advertising piece for the Nestle Chocolate that went into making the fudge topping on your ice cream. It will make a great display piece in your kitchen or den. If you want to actually use it. Then you will need to find an inner sleeve that will hold the fudge, as the one in the warmer now is cracked and does have a hole in it. The power cord is a little frayed, but probably still usable as is. The warmer is 7" in diameter on the bottom of the base. The inner sleeve is 5 3/8" in diameter on its top. These were in my family's Italian grocery in the 1920's and 30's. I'll even throw in a couple of authentically vintage metal scoops(I know.they're rusted but these are the ones they used!one has no markings but the other one is an"Airy Fairy Cake Flour" scoop. These glass jars measure 12 3/4" with lid on) x 7" x 7" not including front metal panel) and they weigh 7 1/2 lb. each. They are all original and like new with absolutely no cracks or chips. Vtg Antique Country Store Counter Industrial Kitchen Island Primitive Workbench
For your consideration is a great looking primitive country store counter. The counter at some point has been cut down to a very adaptable size of 72" in length. The early 1900's counter features 4 drawers down both sides as well as slanted cubbies below. The counter wears at least 3 different colors of old paint which give it a very good look. The oldest paint is a butter yellow with a barn red over that and then just remnants of the sage green in areas. The counter sets flat on the floor with its skirted base.The slanted bottom shelves have original stenciling on the bottom side. At least a portion of the wood was reclaimed from a De Laval Separator Co. crate. As can be seen in the last photo. The piece has original square nail construction. I have tried to show the piece from all sides with detail close ups. With being antique ... morethere are gouges, splits chips and scratches, all adding to the wonderful character. This is for a nice antique art deco desk bell made from onyx with a vivid blue lapis lazuri stone for the button. The lapis is mounted in a silver frame and the top has been faceted. The onyx has strong markings and it has been bevelled at the top edge in the usual deco style. The button is connected to the electrical wires that operate the bell and once rewired.it will definitely work. It is in excellent condition with no cracks just nibbles to the bottom edge of the stone and there are a couple of the little screws missing rom the base that need replacing. ©2013 Jason Raveling( This is a rare find! The Model 3 was referred to in an OCDM Advisory Bulletin dated January 8. 1959. As such, this model dates from 1958 or earlier. Model 3s are the most unique CD V-700s with their rounded cast aluminum construction. CD-V700 radiation survey meter is a sensitive low-range instrument that can be used to measure gamma radiation and detect beta radiation. It is recommended for(1) monitoring of personnel. Food and water when used in a shielded facility or an area of low radiation background, and(2) follow-up monitoring or areas for human habitation and food production. The instrument is also used in training programs where low radiation dose rates are encountered. Operationally this instrument consists of a radiation detector. A regulated high voltage supply, electronic circuitry for pulse shaping ... moreand metering, and an indicating meter and headphone for audible detection of radiation. Ranges of this instrument are 0-0.5, 0-5, 0-50, milliroentgens/hour. When properly calibrated, the response of this instrument is within the range of plus or minus 15 percent of the true gamma radiation dose rate from Cobalt 60 or Cesium 137 radioactive sources. The detecting element(metal wand) of the CD V-700 is a Geiger Mueller(GM) tube(not included) with an adjustable probe shield so that only a gamma radiation dose rate is measured beta and gamma can be indicated together with the probe shield open(see photo above) This instrument is designed for sensitive measurements and has very limited usefulness in areas of high[radioactive] contamination. It is in good condition with very minor wear and turns on when batteries are installed(requires 6 AA- not included) Includes original box.
