Vintage 1949 Walleye Fish Trophy Mount Ford Camp Whitefish Bay Ontario
For your consideration is this wonderful old First Place trophy mount Walleye from 1949 caught at Ford Camp. Whitefish Bay, Ontario Canada. This is a great old mount in super condition on a really unusual back plate. The back plate measures 36" long by 13" tall and as pictured, they are slats of wood that say"First Place 7LB. 6 OZ. on the left side of the fish. Under the center of the fish it is signed"Ford Camp Whitefish Bay, Ontario" and on the right signed"Walleye 1949" It is beautifully done and the writing shows well, as they used two darker slats of wood for part of the writing. The trophy Walleye measures 26 1/2" by 9 3/4" must have been a very proud moment for the winner of this prize. The only damage is the top fin in photo#9, seems to be in two layers and part of the top layer is flaking ... moreoff a bit and the in the last photo the fin on his belly is loose on the top, still holding on the back. This is a rare find and would make a wonderful gift for yourself or the hunting/fishing collector in your life. It belonged to an old collector of only the best hunting/ fishing trophies etc. and he would surely love to see it go to another good home. Ford : F-100 Base 1956 Ford F100, Unrestored, Cali Original, Original Drivetrain, Suspension
I bought this pickup from Colorado. But it spent 54 of its 56 years in Modesto, California. It was originally Diamond Blue and, at some point, painted Orange. The paint is nice in spots, just OK in others. There is undercoating but in small spots reveals Diamond Blue, so the metal looks to be original. The drivetrain and suspension looks to be all original. Some u-clamps missing on leaf springs. Original drum brakes, 223 with single barrel carb and oil bath air cleaner. Engine compartment is Diamond Blue in color. It has the original spate tire and bracket. The wipers work. The rubber weathersealing around the windshield is cracking, but does not leak. There are no cracks in any glass. The vent windows, cowl, speedo, odometer, temp, gas guages all work. The added guage cluster below iginition does not seems to works.The heater/defroster blower ... moreworks but, I believe the water valve is shut off at the engine so once warmed up, it does not blow hot. The side mirrors are not original. There where rectangular ones on and I replaced them with round having to design and machine an adapter bracket for them. Some pics show old mirrors. Round are the new ones. The doors, especially, the passenger are not completely flush when closed. There is huge weatherstripping on both sides and they do not leak. There is no door lock on the drivers side and the one on the passengers side does not work. Door handles and wondow cranks do work.The battery is located under the battery door, under the rug on the passengers side. I have had to charge up the battery the last couple of times to get it to fire up. I've started it twice in the last two months and the nights in Atlanta have recently been in the 30's. Summer and fall, it fired right up, but I was working on it almost daily and it was in the 80-90's. I replaced the old plastic shield style tail lights with 40's style round with glass lens. I've had for about 6 months ago and reluctantly need something more practical. I've done quite a bit of research before and after I purchased the car. The best I can make of it is that the car was found in a shed in Minnesota about ten years where it sat most of its life. It had a 265 Cevy V8 in it when it was found. And it still has it. The paint is as found as well. It is not a faux patina job. The car was previously owned by COOP and Bob Bleed. She's been around. This is an original old Hot Rod. 50s era. 1955 265 Chevy small block in it. This is the first year small block Chevy. Sans oil filter mount. The motor was bolted in using a Hurst front motor mount and a Cragar transmission adapter. I installed new rubber pads on the front mount and a new mount at the transmission. The motor has a new timing chain. Gaskets, clutch, ... morepressure plate and surfaced flywheel. The pressure plate and flywheel were balanced together work done by Ron Lindvig at Lindvig Machine in Medford, OR. Bubba's Speed shop in Indy. Restored the Mallory dual point distributor a few months ago. At idle 20 psi. At 1,500 RPM about 55 psi oil pressure. Little bit of lifter noise from one of the lifters. I do not know if the motor has ever been rebuilt or not. I've had the oil pan and intake off. Everything looks good and felt tight When the motor and trans were out I repainted them with Dupli-Color Hi-Temp. engine enamel. Exhaust manifolds were coated with header paint as well. It runs an Edelbrock 355 intake with 3 Stromberg 97 carbs. New Stromberg progressive linkage and Stromberg Deluxe rebuild kits in the carbs. New Holley low-pressure fuel pressure regulator. The exhaust was done 6 months ago. 2" all the way back with Cherry Bombs. Sounds nice. 12V negative ground system. Fresh rebuilt generator. New Napa battery, and new voltage regulator. These were installed last week. Charging system is in good working order. The generator had died but I didn't figure it out until after I replaced the battery and volt. reg. O

Chicago Ave. EVerglade 4-3535. Love the old phone numbers. What also dates this piece is that it has a snapping holder for your"Emergency Nickel, on the opposite end of the key holder from the key. The key on the inside of the holder is fairly small- I couldn't figure out how to take it out- or if it can come out, but I can see that it is marked"Cleveland Y52, on one side and"Cole National, on the other. The leather holder measures 3" by 1 1/2" and the key is about 1 3/4" long. Both are in excellent condition. There's a fair amount of wear to the leather from use- scratching and scuffing- but it's ... moretotally intact and usable, no strucrtural issues at all. Nice! Please ask if you have any questions.
