Phil Wood BB retaining mounting rings, French thread 35 x 1 mm, stainless steel
Here's a pair of Phil Wood retaining rings. These are used to install Phil Wood cartridge bottom brackets into bicycle frames. They also work with certain Shimano cartridge BBs if the Shimano cups are removed. These rings are threaded 35x1 mm. Commonly known as French threading. Material is stainless steel for the best durability. Rings are used, but have no damage and will work as well as new rings. A bottom bracket is not included, but I have 2 Phil Wood BBs and a Shimano UN72 BB without cups in my other auctions. Get one of my BBs and the rings ship for free! The rings are French threaded. The thread dimensions are 35x1 mm. The rings will only work on older French bicycles. They will not work on modern bikes. Even modern bikes from France. French bicycles stopped using proprietary French threads on bicycles in the early 1980s. If you ... morehave a French bike and are not sure how it is threaded, the best way to tell is to look at the bottom bracket threads on the driveside. If they tighten in the same direction as the nondriveside, then you most likely have French threading. If the driveside threads are left hand(counterclockwise to tighten) then the bike is not French threaded and you probably have British/ISO threads. I have a pair of British threaded Phil rings in my other auction if you need British/ISO. Use these rings to install Phil Wood bottom brackets. Phil's installation instructions can be found HERE. You'll need the special Phil Wood bottom bracket tool to install the rings. A Shimano BB tool won't work as the splines are different. The rings were only installed and removed once. So they are in great shape. They show the normal evidence of installation. You can see tool marks and the marks from where the rings interface with the bottom bracket. There is some loctite residue in the threads. The threads are as good as new. They threaded in and out of the frame's bottom bracket shell smoothly. Solingen Germany Stainless Steel or Chrome Candlesticks
On offer a great set of danish modern candle holders from Solingen Germany. Solingen is known for its manufacture of stainless steel. These candlesticks have a nice weight and have a mark that I am unable to decipher. In addition to the mark the bottom reads Solingen Germany and PAT D207.660.
