Western Union Black Box Ticker 5-A Stock Quotation Machine by Teletype This stock ticker. From the mid-1930s, would have been used in brokerage offices to receive stock quotations. It printed quotes at the top and bottom edges of a paper tape which advances with each character. The 5-A operates at 500 characters a minute, far faster than Teletype units of the day, although we have no way to test it and know of no signal source which can be used with it today. The unit is very clean and powers on; the motor(120v) works; and the selector magnet seems to operate. The type wheel appears intact. It is used and appears to have been kept very clean; there is no ink in the reservoir which appears unused. We have no way to test this. It comes with an original Teletype Bulletin 137 dated 1934. Which is titled"Description and adjustments of the type wheel tape printer(Ticker) a roll of paper tape, AC cord, and signal loop cord and plug. It is missing one small screw on the brass plate on the top, and the fabric on the soundproofing within the top case has deteriorated. Otherwise it appears to be complete, but is sold used, as-is, no returns, as it is from an estate. This is an amazingly complex bit of engineering. Union Special 43200 F Z Edge Lock Black Head Denim Chainstitch Sewing Machine
Up for consideration is a very rare example of the 4300F Union Special heavy duty Edge Lock machine. This machine was made for hemming the back pockets of workwear. This is arguably the rarest of the 43200 machines. This is an un-restored first generation machine. This machine has not been repainted black to look old like most"cloned" examples of the 43200 machine. You can see from the photos this is old school enamel paint and not modern paint, also the cloned machines oftentimes have orange primer on the interior of the casting, the interior of this machine is black on the casting. Also if you look at the thread eyelets you will see they are ceramic and not metal like the second and third generation machines. This is a really rare machine. This machine has been in my possession for approximately 4 years. This machine came from ... morea small shop in NY and has not been overseas in a sweatshop like most 43200 machines offered for sale. If you look at the build plate you will see this is a 43200 FZ the"Z" denotes a custom machine so this is the rarest of any model F to be had. This machine comes with a custom made edge guide for hemming back pockets. This machine also features a custom made African Padauk table that has been Spar Varnished and is assembled with biscuit joints and brass hardware. This machine is powered by a 110V servo motor. This machine has a custom made steel mounting plate with large rubbers. This machine has had all of the wool wicks replaced in the oil reservoir. This is the perfect addition to your growing vintage work wear company as it will add a real authentic vintage touch to your jeans. Not many people have an F in their production facility so it will be a selling point to you jeans especially if you already have a 43200 G. There is a lot here from various screws, oil cups, tension parts, springs, to very rare parts like a 43200 F presser foot tension tube, screw, and plunger(no spring) presser foot lifting lever spring, and screw mount with block. There is an incomplete oil globe(the celluloid bowl is broken see pics) There are rocker arm captures, needle guards, two or three presser feet(one is modified) a very rare back plate for a 43200 G as well as a knee lift and folder mounting bracket and spacer. It looks as if it had been sitting in a warehouse since the 80's when I got it and the wear looks like stuff bumping into it while in storage opposed to wear from use. This machine has seen very little use. Unlike the other guys who are selling 43200 machines on eBay. This is not an old machine that has been repainted and has modern Union Special sticker plastered on the side to make it appear new. Be aware that almost every machine on eBay has been"restored" or repainted to make it appear newer. This is the closest thing you will get to a new 43200 machine. I can say with confidence that this machine and the machine that SelfEdge has are the only two examples in shape like this. It would be great for in-store hemming or even better for a small manufacturing operation. This is an un-restored piece from 1987, even look at the red lining in the needle bar cover, other machines do not have these original details as they have been made to look much newer than they are. This is a Lewis Union Special model 150-1 industrial sewing machine. This machine& some others were pulled from a home during a clean out. He was in sewing all his life. First had a factory. Then downsized and took a few machines home where he made uniforms. This machine has probably been sitting un-used for 10 years. It was a good climate controlled environment so no deterioration has occurred. It seems well cared for& I can see no damage. The machine is not bolted to the table now. Union Special 43200 G Chain Stitch Hemming Industrial Sewing Machine
Up for auction is a classic Union Special 43200G Chain Stitch Sewing Machine. I purchased this in hopes of getting it up and running and ended up finding a slightly better model and so this particular machine has been sitting on a shelf pretty much since I received it. When I purchased it I was under the assumption that it was in greater shape than it is and was disappointed to find out that it was in need of far more work than I was willing and able to provide. I would describe this particular machine as being in fair condition. But it will surely need some TLC to get it up and stitching. I would say it is a good candidate for a complete rebuild by a more talented mechanic than myself. And I would recommend it going to someone who has several of these machines to use as donors. Not to someone such as myself who may be feeling"mechanically ... morehandy" enough to take a chance on a cheap 43200G. This is not simply a cheap 43200G. It is a 43200G in need of repair. Although it is black this is not a"Black Head" machine. It appears to be a 2nd generation that someone painted to resemble the oldest generation of these machines. I am selling this"as is" parts only" because I do not want anyone to be under the assumption that it is more that what it is. It is not"sewn off" as I have not been successful in adjusting it to produce a suitable chain stitch. There is some minor surface rust on several parts. However I have cleaned and oiled most of the machine and there is nothing that appears that it will pose a problem. In fact the machine turns over fine and does not bind. Steel wool and scotch brite pads work wonders! There are some minor missing parts and these include some oiler cups and screws. Also it appears that the looper is part number"43208D" and so this is not the correct looper for the 43200G machine. The looper should actually be a 43208"G" part number. My recommendation(and what I had planned on) would be to couple this machine with another decent 43

Here's a vintage Union Special sewing machine. I don't know anything about this machine except that it's quite old and interesting looking. It is clearly missing the presser lever and spring. Plus the cover plate. It wouldn't be difficult to fabricate the missing parts. I thought about doing that myself but I've had it sitting around for years and never seemed to make the time, consequently it's being sold as is. I believe that if the parts were fabricated this would indeed work, the mechanism is nice and free. The label on this says it's a style 1800AA machine(means nothing to me) the serial number is 279341. Repair this or set it on a shelf as a neat display item. Weighs about 35 lbs unpacked. The model 61400A is a great straight stitch machine with mostly automatic oiling, adjustable stitch lengths, and smooth operation. Union Special has been building commercial machines in the USA since 1881 and is still doing business here in the USA. It has a Craftsman motor. My parents bought this machine in the early late 1980's or early 1990's. I am certain it was before 1992, because that is when they closed the factory. ANOTHER ONE OF JACK'S AUCTIONS! United States Buyers Only. Measuring about 14" left to right by about 17 1/2" tall by about 8" deep and weighing 61 1/2 pounds. This vintage Union Special Sewing Machine is model 80600-H. The serial number is 498599. This commercial machine does not seem to work properly. The movement of the needle, while smooth, is not complete and something is keeping the wheel seen in my 7th picture from making a complete rotation. Also, the lever on the back side(see my 6th picture) does not lift whatever it is suppose to lift when you press it down. It seems to be stuck. There is no motor. Please note that(see picture 5 above) there should probably be a plate that encloses that lower area under the needle. That is missing. I did look inside the machine and nothing is rusted.
