VINTAGE CROSS STITCH EMBROIDERY BLUE/WHITE LINEN POUCH ENVELOPE CHECKBOOK COVER
This little white handmade envelope travel pouch was probably used for handkerchiefs long ago. It is smooth to the touch from its age and quality of linen. Its edges are surrounded with handmade cutwork and trimmed in blue thread along the back edges. A Phoenix bird design within the blue cross stitch decorates the front cover and there are small blue tassels in the lower corners. Notice the quality of the handwork as seen in the small photos of the front and back of the embroidery. A characteristic of fine craftsmanship. The pouch is in perfect condition except for some tiny age stains that would probably come out with washing. It measures 9” x 4.5” when closed.
