This beautiful chainstitch machine includes the following: Original machine- Based on a letter from the Willcox& Gibbs company in 1992 the approx. manufacture date of the machine is 1918. Serial number of the machine is A725295. Attached base and motor. Note: the previous owner apparently re-wired the machine and the light fixture. I do not recommend operating the machine unless you know the connection is safe. Foot pedal with original cord. As with the base/motor. in order to prevent the risk of fire) I do not recommend operating the machine with the current wiring. Seam guide with screw- Note: there is some rust along the edge of the guide. I have attached it directly to the plate of the machine. I have not tried to clean this. The band on the top of the motor is quite faded but can still be read. The previous owner told me that she actually used the machine and that it works. This was more than 10 years ago and so I cannot guarantee that it is currently working. I have wrapped the machine in some bubble wrap(just enough so the box will still close. I've also wrapped the accessories box and foot pedal. The instruction booklet is in a plastic bag. Everything is contained in the original box. As a bonus. Serial Number 34243 From what I've found on line this serial number was produced in 1860. But the machine does have an 1864 patent mark. I also read that the serial number dates were not that reliable for the exact year. It is a very early pre-1875 machine. It has the glass/brass tensioner. It is marked with a very early 1846 patent. This is in very good operating order. I did not try to sew with it. But I'm fairly sure it would work. Operates extremely smoothly. The foot lift works smoothly as well as the feed.
