1900s Large Weston Voltmeter Industrial Meter Gauge Fantastic Design STEAMPUNK!
Circa 1900s Weston Voltmeter by Weston Electrical Instrument Company in Newark NJ. With patent dates on the front up to the 1900s. This one is model no 78856. It is large and heavy. It measures 9.5 x 10 x 4.75 inches and weighs 15 pounds. It has fantastic victorian script on the front. The piece at one point was put in a wood slat front and screwed down, it sits at an angle. The knob turns nicely on the front. As you can see, it has some wear- there is discoloration on the front, surface scratches, the wood has plenty of dings and dents, the sides has some discolorations and back, too, from age and wear. The glass also has some specks on it from the inside- it can probably be cleaned up nicely. Shipping is an estimate- we always refund overages and/or invoices for shortages. Vintage Weston DC Voltmeter. Model 45 Serial Number 56833, Dated Sept. 1946 A few specific things you should know about this voltmeter. It is in really good condition. It has all the original knobs and leather handle. It is hard to find one that still has the knobs and handle. The Serial number is 56833 and it is hand dated and signed on September 17. 1946. The case has a few wear marks on it, that I believe would clean up nicely with some wood polish. I did not clean it up myself, so that the next owner had the option to clean it up or not. There are 2 little, looks like screw marks on the front, as if it had another metal label on it. This could be filled if you wanted with some wood filler. This is an incredible piece of art and functional guitar with custom distressed mounts and anodized/petina Bare Knuckle War Pig ceramic pickups. Which you can see in some of the pics, I put those hand wound boutique pickups in and had the neck shimmed so it would be a player and not just a work of art, it has working plasma globe, cool ceramic throw switch to enable it, and a voltmeter that moves around when the globe is enabled. It has some history. I have some YouTube videos, it was used to record a few solos, produced my the legendary Michael Wagener. You can see a studio pic of it with my other V's and one of his. It just makes people go nuts. I looked online and there are a lot of vintage Collins items; none exactly like this one. But all having to do with radio communication. It does power on. And if you look at the pictures you can see that. Also the meter seems to be working. The face measures 19” wide by 10 ½” tall, and the depth is 15” and that is including the handles. Since I don't know how to test it, it is being sold, as is, no guarantees, and no return! ~ ANTIQUE JEWELL VOLTMETER ~ Offered here is an attic-fresh antique Jewell voltmeter that I acquired from the estate of a local. Long time HAM radio enthusiast and operator. It is marked“Pattern No, 30” and“Serial No. 720304” It stands 9 ½” high, measures 9” in length, and weighs, 7+ pounds. I’m guesstimating that this dates to the 1920’s or 30’s. The term“steampunk” is probably one of the most overused on e-Bay(rivaling“Northern Soul” in the records category) It is of course a subjective term but I have seen art deco and art noveau items described using this term. To me. THIS item to me can accurately be described as steampunk. It’s got an industrial– artsy appearance and is from the correct era. The only name I could find is on a part inside: YAXLEY. The tubes are all still there too! The wooden case is in good shape with normal wear for something almost 100 years old. The mica? on the dial covers are cracked/broken. The dials are OK. But the covers are in bad shape. There is a voltmeter in the center. The wording on that is: High Resistance VoltMeter No. 153. The approx. measurements are: 23" wide, 11" tall, and 12" deep(at the base) and 8 1/2" deep(at the top) There is a bundle of wires which I believe are for speakers, but I'm not sure.
