HEATHKIT Vacuum Tube Volt Meter- vintage circa 1951 Case is 8 7/8" high(not including handle) 4 7/8 deep(not including knobs) and 6" wide. Probes included- red and black probes are not original equipment. All knobs present. Access port on top has cover present. Cord is in good shape. Not frayed. Dial light operates. Battery(2"D" cells) holder is not corroded. Interior resisters/ condensers. Switches appear to be original. See photos of the underside. Tube complement: 6SN7GTB and 6H6. I have had this meter more than 30 years and used it many times. I have changed the batteries about every 2 years to make sure they are fresh. Look at the picture of the probes measuring an IRC 75 ohm wire-wound resister. The meter in the photo taken while measuring the resister shows(in the outermost scale) midway between the"7" ... moreand the"8" on the"RX10" range. Or 75 ohms! Another photo shows the same resister measurement on the"RX100" range. Again, the outermost scale shows the meter reading three quarters of the way up from"0" to"1" or.75 X 100 = 75 ohms! Pretty good for a 65 year old meter! I measured the same resister with a modern Sperry digital-readout meter and got a reading of 75.3 ohms. I will pack it very well for shipment and include all probes(not the 75 ohm resister) As is standard with vintage electronic equipment. Even though it is working here, I cannot guarantee it will be working after shipment.

ANTIQUE Voltmeter 1909 Portable GE Thomson in box with orig test certif
Nice. Completely original portable testing voltmeter by General Electric in its original wooden box with original finish AND the original certificate from the factory signed by the GE testing supervisor on May 5, 1909. Latest patent date is 1903. Belongs in a museum. This came from the electrical shop at the Llanerch Carbarn of the Philadelphia and West Chester Traction Company. Later the Red Arrow Lines and finally the Red Arrow Division of SEPTA. When they were shutting the place down in the early 1970s they were throwing out the darnedest things, including this nice little voltmeter, which must have been used to diagnose problems on generations of trolley cars and the supporting power systems. This is the precision type of meter with the knife-edge needle and mirrored background so you can read it very accurately. Condition: Don't ... moreknow if it works but I suspect that it might because the needle suspension is still perfectly free. The wooden case(can't tell what kind of wood) has its original finish with many many scratches and scuffs from a century of life but wasn't abuse that I can tell. It had a leather strap at one time. Which is now completely gone except for its crumbling ends. The black meter itself has fine pitting all over its finish. It is mounted on its original mahogany backing which is quite nice for its age. Box measures 6.25" x 7.25" x 4.5" Weighs a little under 5 lbs. This great meter would have had a much higher starting bid except that it has water damage and I don't know how extensively the works may be compromised. So"as-is" is what it is. The needle does move a little as you handle it, but it doesn't return to zero and doesn't float like you'd expect if it were operable. I haven't had it apart to see what's going on inside. That said. With a little cleanup, this will make an impressive display piece, since the needle and glass are intact and it just exudes turn-of-the-century technological charm. The card is intact and pretty clean, I think, except for a minor rust stain down toward the zero end. The card is laid out with three voltage ranges(selected internally. Vintage radio hobbyist or anyone working on vacuum tube circuits This is a large instrument with a six inch meter. It is more than twice the size of the smaller 4.5 inch Heathkit VTVMs you commonly see. Heathkit marketed it as their“Service Bench VTVM” because of some unique features designed for that application. It has separate ac voltage scales for the two lowest ac ranges for greatly improved accuracy on those ranges over the smaller 4.5 inch meters. It also has multi-turn zero and ohms adjust controls that make adjustment much easier than on most VTVMs. This instrument has a bracket that rotates a full 360 degrees(see photo) which can be used as a stand(as shown) or a mounting bracket to mount the instrument to the wall or the bottom ... moreof a shelf. Thus saving shelf space. This particular instrument was assembled by someone who really knew how to build electronic equipment. See the photo showing the wiring. This VTVM is fully calibrated with accuracy verified on all ranges. It is supplied with a calibration data sheet showing the accuracy on each range( similar to the photo shown) It is fully guaranteed to meet or exceed the original manufacturer’s specifications and is supplied with an all-new user’s instruction manual that covers all the modifications made in refurbishing(see photo) This Heathkit IM-13 is in very good cosmetic condition. Have a vintage Weston Electrical Instruments Corp. Newark N.J. USA Model 528 AC voltmeter. Meter is in good shape for it's age. There are no chips or cracks in the reddish brown and black bakelite case. The glass face has no chips or cracks. Meter arm moves freely when you move the piece around. There are 2 lead wires included with this meter. Both appear to be original and of the same period. There is some elecrical tape on the end of each wire by the metal electrodes. Apparently someone was getting a shock by touching the bare metal of the electrodes. Email any questions or requests for other photos. If you collect vintage electrical testers. You won't want to pass this by. You are looking at a vintage dual electrical Mil-Voltmeter tester, called a"bondtester" which, according to the instructions, is used to test the bond between two connections. It has a nice heavy aluminum case with two glass windows covering two identical opposing meters that go from 0 to 75. On the bottom of the instrument is a female treaded bushing for attaching it to a tripod. It was manufactured by Whitney Electrical Instrument Company, in Penacook, N.H. probably around the 1890's or early 1900's. It comes in its' original nice sturdy wooden box that measures 8 1/2" across x 7 1/2" front to back x 4 3/4" high.
