This is a vintage set of Weston Model 528 Voltmeter and Ammeter. They are previously used but have not been tested to see if they are currently in working condition. They were first produced in 1929 and these particular models feature Bakelite cases. The Voltmeter measures up to 150 volts. The Ammeter has a low range of 0-3 amps and high range of 0-15 amps. Vintage YEW Voltmeter in excellent condition with case. The voltmeter looks excellent with no visual problems or defects. Damage but the outside of the carry case is rough looking but solid. I know nothing about this meter other than it looks real nice and usable. I'm not sure of the age, I would have to guess it's out of the fifties. Cable and bakelite? test needle/prong the meter is in good unpolished working condition,it comes in its original lined hinged fancy/ornate clip lock( which clips closed well)box which is in good age related condition with a few little nicks around its edges and with some soiling to its interior cover. I have tested the meter and it works across a 9 volt battery. It measures 55mms across the dial excluding feet and loop etc. A well looked after collectable ampmeter in its original case. vintage DC voltmeter made in the USA volts Mico patent applied for. From the 1920s or 1930s this was used in a radio repair shop in Philadelphia that repair car radios years ago. I have no way of testing this meter and it is being sold as untested. Curved metal movement cover, and matching black slotted screws. We tested this meter with a resistor decade box and a 50 volt power source, It reached full scale deflection on the 30 volt scale using a 30k ohm series resistor. So we verified a couple others as well and below is the results. 120k ohm full scale on the 120 volt scale. 30k ohm is full scale on the 30 volt scale. 6k ohm is full scale on the 6 volt scale. 3k ohm is full scale on the top 3 volt scale. Vintage Jewell Portable 3 range D.C. Voltmeter, Pattern 171, S/N 2126
This is a vintage 3 range portable DC Volt meter made by the Jewell Electrical Instrument Co. of Chicago. Ill U.S.A. It is pattern No. 171, Serial Number 2126 and patent No. 1604611 that was issued October 26, 1926 so this unit was made after that. The case is black bakelite like material, the original leather strap is gone, its remains flaked away when I wiped it off. The scale has yellowed on the inside and there is some discoloration of the glass, there is a crack on the front case at the top right corner, see pic No. 7. This has 3 ranges 0-15 VDC, 0-150VDC and 0-300VDC. The terminals are all clean and the lock nuts work perfectly. The needle responds to the correction screw on the front with a tap on the case after making an adjustment. A neat piece of early electrical, radio history.
