It sure as heck does! It works better and harder than a Dickensian orphan. What's it made of? Bakelite. With a glass cover and leather handle. C'mon you should know this by now. What about the leather? It's as supple as a baby's bottom. I oiled and polished the heck out of it. It's beautiful. What's up with the crack at the corner? Well that was just me being stupid. It thought ISR had filled it with epoxy and broke it off to gain access to it to clean it. It wasn't epoxy; it was just a blob of wax covering the screw so they could tell if some smartaleck engineer or idiot like me got into the works. Antique industrial General Electric Thomson Voltmeter in very good condition. The case is thick steel and the hole unit is very heavy. The curved glass is very nice with no chips or cracks. When rocked the needle floats smooth as it should. The indicator dial works smooth also. The case does have some surface rust around and the top brass badge is split. The first patent year is 1895 and the last is 1909 with a model# of 260487 type H. The case measures aprox 8 inch long by 8 wide by 6 inch tall at back. Westinghouse High accuracy analog AC Voltmeter mirror strip
This is a vintage AC{alternating current) Volt meter with a 0- 15 volt range. I do not know when it was manufactured. But it is in working condition. I also do not know what the accuracy is. But I have made mirror background screens for meters; and companies such as Westinghouse only mounted these mirrors on high accuracy meters. The original tag showing the mfg. assembled. Tested, and who inspected) is still attached to the meter. There are some dull marks on the back and sides. But the front side is not scratched or discolored. The bottom side is the only side that has a couple of short scratches. I know this meter has not been used for over 30 years. Because it was in my father's George James Electrical Test Equipment Rental Store. The store been closed for over 30 years. For your consideration is a hard to find Hickok Model 209A Electronic Volt Ohm Capacity Milliammeter. In addition to standard VTVM functions. This meter also measures DC Milliamps and Capacitance in uF and pF. The Milliamp function is usefull for biasing tube amplifier output tubes. The large 9" meter makes peak to peak aligning of audio or ham equipment a breeze and is something that cannot be competently performed with a digital voltmeter. The Canadian version of this meter was a Stark VT-9 and retailed for $201.80 in 1954! This one is the same but in a larger cabinet.
