This variac is used and tests OK. It was removed from a x-ray machine. It weighs 4 1/2 lbs and the winding measures 4 inches x 2 inches. It was made in Enfield Middlesex England. There are two micro switches below the faceplate which could be used for auxilliary switching. It appears in good condition and the wiper does not have much wear. Here is a Variac brand vintage dial(0 to 130) transformer. This came from a working environment but I am unable to test. My husband had it wired to use standard wall plug in on dedicated circuit and the other end attached to a large kiln. I sold kiln before finding the transformer. So I can only assume it still works. Appears clean, dial spins smoothly, with only normal use and age chipping.
