Offered is the reference standard of all commercially made tube testers. This is the WESTON model 686- 10A vacuum tube analyzer along with its original Instruction Manual and Tube Data Chart Manual. Its not just a tube tester but rather a collection of individual power supplies and AC signal sources into one unit. Included is a high voltage supply in three ranges 60/150 and 300vdc. Heater voltage from.5 to 120v. Grid voltages from 0-100v. Included are meters for GM. Grid current and plate current to 120ma. All of the functions are variable, which allow the user to test tubes under real world circumstance, or within a pre-determined set of values. I hate to see it go, but a recent move has left me with less space so my loss is your gain. The 10A was the last and best version of this tester. The manuals I have are all dated 1955 so it would be a good guess that this particular unit was made somewhere around that time. The manuals are a must and themselves are very difficult to find. I believe that its retail price then was somewhere around $1500, which was about the price of a new car, so not many were made and few would have ended up anywhere other than a lab. JACKSON TYPE 648A TUBE TESTER For your consideration. We are offering a vintage vacuum tube tester. Partially tested to be in working condition. I powered it up. It adjusts properly to my line voltage. I tested an old 6E5, seems fine, nice bright display and 110% reading. Then I tried a 76 triode and it came up 90% Then I tried a 12AU7 and it came up 5% but it tested great on my EICO 628. So I figure it needs restoration. All the buttons seem to be working good, some were sticking at fist, but got better as I kept working them. So it has good transformers. Good meter and good controls. Schematic on the bottom, inside. Clean chassis internals. Heck, the handle isn't even broken. OK, the case cover is rough. That's easy. Overall, restoration should be pretty inexpensive. The center tuning knob is missing but similar vintage style knobs are plentiful& reasonably priced on eBay. I know our other EICO 320(listed separately in our other listings) does have the correct same center knob. The display lettering and numbers look in decent condition and the knobs are all original. When it's not under close-up scrutiny it's really not bad to look at and just hoping someone could use it. Military TV-7A/U that is in Excellent working condition and nice cosmetic condition compared to most other than it is missing the clasps that hold the tube data setting book shown in the photos. You will see in the photos it line adjusts perfectly and also is shown testing my 6L6 calibration tube which is rated at 40 and showing a reading of 40 on the meter so it is very accurate and I have tested and sold several tubes here on ebay with this very tester and nothing but great feedback. Jackson 648R Tube Tester-EXCELLENT! 648 Works Great This listing is for a vintage Jackson 648R tube tester in exceptional condition. It works great. And except for some wear on the wood case, it looks nearly new. I have not seen another on eBay in quite some time in this excellent shape. The 648R is one of the more recent versions of the classic Jackson 648 tube tester. This"R" series replaced the"648A in 1958 and was manufactured until 1961. It is preferable to earlier models in that it uses a diode instead of an internal 1S5 tube for calibrating line voltage. So it seldom needs calibration. It also features a Flip/Over tube socket bank. I see no significant defects on the tester- it looks nearly new in all respects except for external case wear. The switches. Knobs, meter, and chassis all look near new. There is almost no ... morewear on any of the plastic or metal parts. The knobs and switches all appear to be original. Paint is excellent near new. There is some very slight corrosion of some of the Philips head wood screws that hold the chassis to the case. The outside of the case has some minor dings and light corrosion as seen in the photos. The case is solid and clean and all the latches. Hinges, handles work great. If you refinished the leatherette exterior the whole thing would look near new. Please contact me with questions or for additional photos. I have used it as my primary tester for about 10 years and have never had a problem. When I first got it I checked it against a friends Hickok and the readings matched very closely. I have had no reason to adjust things since then(in light use. Perhaps 10 tube tests a year) Instructions for calibration are easy to find online if you want to do that. Included on the top cover are the Operation Instructions and an Additional Tube Guide. The built in rolling tube guide is in excellent shape. I am also including(not shown in the photos) a 12 page photo copy of a newer tube guide dated 1965. I Just OVERHAULED this tester& it's FREE SHIPPING to Canada& US. FULLY INSURED& TRACKED. Eico 667 Mutual Conductance Tube Tester& Transistor Tester. Serial# 9123. C/w copies of Instruction Manual. Older tubes& European tubes set up Manuals. Transistor manual The tester looks excellent inside. But it needed extra long servicing to bring it to proper Calibration standards. Per manual. It now works PERFECTLY. It looks Excellent outside(but few marks) There's an Eico tape on the bottom of the case w/ their# 667 51026 0044 OVERHAUL: The tester was operational. But I wanted to but to bring it to proper Calibration standards. Per Manual- it needed extra long servicing- THE RIGHT WAY: Changed Plate potentiometer w/ a Wire Wound MALLORY Industrial Grade type. Changed Leakage& Line resistors. Matched within 2% resistance- ... morebetter than the originals- the Manual says they've to be of equal value. Installed 2 New diodes& a New Electrolytic capacitor. I painted& installed a NEW Pilot Light. Took apart the meter& straightened its pointer. Installed missing screw/nut for Push Buttons assembly. This was very important. As some PB's weren't holding! Removed residue of old tape(you still see it inside the cover. Picture 1) Cleaning throughout. CALIBRATION: Per attached Instruction Manual. TESTING on the Mutual Conductance scale 0- 140; Note that what you see in the pictures are very resembling to the results on my Upgraded Stark 8-77(~= Hickok 6000/A) Mutual Conductance tester: 1. Russian Army 6P6 = 6L6. No leaks 2. A Leaking tube. 3. 5U4GB. P 1 = 94 = Mid Good, P 2 = 94 = Mid Good( make sure you switch the Grid pot OFF = 0. Per instructions) No picture. 4. 6CW4 Nuvistor- 94. Conar 223 Tube Tester Tested Working
Conar 223 Tube Tester. Several tubes have been tested and this appears to be in good working condition, shown testing a type 41 tube, a 12AU7 and a 5U4 all known good tubes. Includes the Assembly and User manual, the 221-223-C Supplementary chart, a Coletronics 5-2-67 New Tube Releases chart and several other papers that most likely came with it when it was new. This is a very versatile tester that test tubes from the old 4& 5 pin types to the newer Compactron and Decal types. The first socket accommodates the early 4, 5& 6 pin types, the second socket is a small 7 pin for 6B7 type tubes but will not accommodate the large 7 pin types like 53 or 59, while these types are listed in the tube chart one would need to make an adapter to test these tubes or replace the socket, the tester also has the more common mini 7& 9 pin sockets ... moreas well as the Octal, Magnavol and Loctal sockets, the roll chart is good and easily turns. The case is solid but shows its age, the tolex has some rips and tears and it looks like some paint has run down one side as seen in the last photo, the handle is good, the inside panel looks good and all switches and controls do work but but there are tiny dark speckles on the panel and meter possibly from paint over-spray, these may or may not clean up, due to its age this is sold as-is. Vintage PRECISION APPARATUS CO Series 920 Electronamic Tube and Set Tester
For your consideration is one vintage Precision Apparatus Company series 920 Electronamic Tube and Set Tester. It weighs almost 15 lbs. unpacked. The case laying down is 12 3/4" wide x 13 3/4" deep x 6" tall. The wood case has scratches from use and one tiny chip. Shown in the pictures, but is intact. The AC cord is dried out and should be replaced. The"line adjust" control and knob are missing, the 2 wires that were attached to it inside are taped off. The cabinet had 2 sets of 4 rubber feet originally. The four when sitting horizontally are all removed. There is one of the four missing for vertical position. It looks like there was a metal label on the outside gone as well. I don't see why someone with a little electronics savvy wouldn't be able to fix this with little effort.
