This is a popular model, as it can not only test most of the audio tubes being use today, but can also test tubes used in radio such as 811 and all Compactrons. Included with the tester is the original assembly/user manual. This unit is in fine physical condition for its age. The outer case looks great. With minimal damage on the red cloth. Typically, these are pretty torn up. The inside looks great, as I hope you can see in the pictures below. This unit was acquired from a local ham who is in the process of downsizing his extensive collection. It hasn't been used in quite some time. But I decided to test it out. Nice Hickock 539C Tube Engineering Tester with Calibration Kit
This is a nice Hickock 539C tester. This unit is 100% functional and includes a manual and two tube supplements as well as a calibration procedure written by Daniel Schoo. Also included is a parts kit for building a trans-conductance test standard as described by the famous Daniel Schoo calibration procedures. The kit is components only but the Schoo article describes how to build the full calibration fixture. The tester has very slight cosmetic blemishes normal given the age of this type of equipment. The panel is in nice shape with only a few blemishes. The Self Bias markings near the top left switch has only the"Self" wording missing but the"Bias" markings there and the switch use is self explanatory so this is not a functional issue. Here's a great Heathkit IT-3117 Tube Checker(tester) This is the last of the Heathkit made testers. It tests darn near every tube ever made. 4, 5, 6, pin vintage tubes, miniatures, loctals, and more. This is in very nice clean condition. I tested a few random tubes and got the expected results(they were known good tubes) Obviously I can't test every switch and knob combination and I would imagine if you were going to put this into regular use all the controls and switches, as well as the tube sockets should be cleaned, but it's looking and working good. Worth noting that the original knob for the filament setting is cracked and not on the unit as it slips, but it will be included. The replacement knob has the indicator line in the wrong place in relation to the set screw and flat side of the switch shaft, so there's a small ... morenotch in the skirt of the knob to indicate correct position. I had it checked out and calibrated by Dan Nelson(the expert on these) Earlier this year. He commented on how clean and well cared for it was. Eico 667 Dynamic Conductance Tube Tester- Nice! HAM Here's another nice. Clean Eico model 667 tube and transistor tester from the back of my closet. The 667 is the last and perhaps the best of the Eico tube testers. It will test most all of the radio and TV tubes manufactured; and while it doesn't have sockets for the older 4, 5, 6& 7-pin tubes, they can still be tested using an Eico 615 adapter, as the settings are still in the data manuals. You can also easily make your own adapters. All that's needed is an old octal tube base and the socket of your choice. The Eico 666 and 667 tube testers are of the"Dynamic Conductance" type which was originally designed by Jackson as an improvement over simple emission testers without infringing on Hickok's patented"Dynamic Mutual Conductance" design. The Eico version has an advantage over most in that it actually measures leakage values on the tester meter instead of using a simple go/no-go"shorts" lamp. This is invaluable for finding leakage paths that simply don't show up using the less sensitive lamp method. This 667 is shown in the photo testing a NOS RCA 6L6GC tube. You are looking at an RD Instruments 1575 Tube Tester. This tester is similar to the Hickok 539B or the Western Electric KS-15750. Overall. It is in good used condition. However, it does not have a top lid. All meters are Hickok. All knobs, buttons, switches are working. The top face panel has some stains, marks, etc. All of this can be seen in the photos. I tested it using a 6L6 tube(photos 23 and 24) and it seems to be working accurately. It has a couple of service labels on it, and apparently the last service was in 1982. I had to open it up and rip the certification label(located in the top left corner- photo 12) in order to take photos inside. Inside, it is clean and there is no oxidation. The metal cabinet shows normal signs of age and wear: light surface scratches, some minor flaking of the original paint, etc. but no dents or breaks that I can see. The bakelite tube sockets, knobs and pushbuttons are all excellent- no chips, cracks or breaks. The knob turns freely, the push buttons press and depress properly and the needles in the meters bounce easily when tapped. The faces of the meters are excellent- very easily read. The nickel plated escutcheons on them could use a good cleaning, but they have no dents or breaks. Both metal identification tags have no dents or breaks and very easily read as well. The ring around the lead wire that hooks ... moreto your tubes has a small chip out of it, but it is still securely attached. The toggle switches are excellent and toggle properly. It has its four original rubber feet which are in very good condition. It still has its cardboard bottom, which is stained, but no hole or tears. Scroll chart and meter are illuminated-this makes them much easier to read. Cosmetically. I would rate the case and the instrument panel as 9.0 out of 10. The TV-7 series of military tube testers is recognized as some of the most practical and useful testers available. The D/U was the last of the TV-7 series. These are very portable. This tester was completely serviced and calibrated in Arizona earlier this year and has only been used to test a few items since then. Hickok i-177 Mutual Conductance Tube Tester with Mod for Modern
This has an unusual modification which makes it do the same as a MX-949 adaptor- sort of. The adapter is mounted over sockets A. B, C& D and connects through E. A-D(4, 5, 6& 7 pin) are not available for use. The MX-949 booklet in the cover does not list all the tubes it can test. The Gilardetti spreadsheet you can find online lists many more types that can be tested than the booklet does. With the adapter it is not suitable for testing early radio type tubes. The grey crackle on the case looks like it was done fairly recently. The 83 is replaced with solid state. Recently calibrated and working well for what it does test. The switch style of the mod is sort of putzy to use. Not a good tester if you're trying to test a lot at once where you would need to frequently change the settings.

Up for auction. The Hickok Cardmatic Model 123 Tube Tester. This 123 comes with cards for all the popular tubes, a technical manual, the owner’s manual and a set of schematics. This Model 123 was just serviced for this auction. I took the 123 to my local repair shop and the following work was done. The main filter was replaced, the sockets were replaced, all controls and connectors cleaned and the 123 was calibrated. The 123 is in good cosmetic condition with the normal signs of age. The repair shop tested the 123 after all repairs were complete and the 123 and all of its functions were working as they should. Due to the age of the tester, this unit is being sold AS IS.

Up for bids is a Vintage Eico 625 Tube Tester in excellent condition. A very easy-to-use tube tester that will test a wide variety of tubes for guitar amps. Stereos, radios, etc. Does all the basic tube tests read on a GOOD/BAD scale. Tester spent most of it's life inside a small wooden cabinet and it was used sparingly so it is really clean for it's age. I tested it against my Triplett 3413-B with several different tubes and it gave similar results. Includes original owners' manual, a NOS roll chart still in it's cardboard tube, a Westinghouse guide to vacuum tubes, and a tube chart supplement. Will be packed very well for shipping. Vintage Electron Vacuum Tube Store Military TV-7A/U Tube Tester I have been very hesitant to let this one go. It is the most reliable. Accurate, and well built tube tester I have ever used. This unit has been very well cared for in every way. I am only the second owner of this tube tester, which is quite rare for these things. The tester has been professional calibrated and meets ALL original specifications for tolerences of voltages, gm, etc. All the buttons depress without hassle. Basically, this TV-7A/U performs flawlessly in every way with ALL functions being in perfect working order. All of the sockets are strong and secure with original socket-savers still in place. I will include a 6L6 calibration tube that came with it when I had this unit calibrated last year. The tube is a useful tool as a reference point for all other tubes and ... moreto be sure the unit is staying within acceptable tolerences. The Gm has remained exactly where it should since having the unit calibrated. I do not know anything about this instrument. Except that it is a tube and transister tester. From what I can see on the outside, it looks like it's all there. It is screwed into the carrying case. The case has a few spots on it, but there are no tears or breaks. It measures 7 1/2" x 9" x 3 1/4" The handle, hinges and latch are in good shape. It is being sold in"AS IS" condition.
